Best two peices of advice... interview at both like others mentioned its all about what you make it and what you want out of it.... WEMS= lots of transports...lots of medical knowledge with the occassional emergency EMPRESS= Solid mix of Transports and 911 Jobs.... TransCare= Doing Transports for 6 to 12 months..lots of medical knowledge to be found.. then when you transfer over to 911 all you do is 911 and no transports. unless you need overtime. Coverage Areas... WEMS= mostly upper westchester and surrounding counties, with ALS 911 Territories throughout EMPRESS= transports all over...911-in Yonkers, Mount Vernon.... and some westchester county VAC's as support staffing in the daytime.. TransCare= transports all over...911- in White Plains, New Rochelle some westchester county VAC's as support staffing in the daytime Also TransCare is part of the New York City 911 EMS System handling BLS and ALS units out of area hospitals such as Montefiore, St. Barnabas, Bronx-Lebanon, Einstein, North General, Mt. Sinai, Beth Israel South..etc...etc.. Much Luck To You Hope It Works Out Well.

To think I live right next door to where that fire was... so I guess its true what they say about Port Chester everytime you see an empty lot that means the building burnt down....

.. lets not forget the local 1971 office and supply rooms that were slowly detaching themselves and collapsing under the weight shift of the bldg.... hopefull they can start work on all the little things now... stairs.. walls.. fire escapes.. basements...but yea good luck with repairs hope all goes well and u can restore that station.

... of course id have to agree with the majority and say politics is a bigger issue... now youd have to consider the question whats the staffing on all these ladders that could theoretically be "first due" to vmfd..?

Anyone know anything about it... ive seen one new bus down there in the Bx and its larger with a new top to bottom roll up door.. with the HAZTAC Logo on it... is this a new thing? will it go citywide?

man keep your posts down that spinning light is killing me

I was cleaning out the firehouse and I found an old smoke machine with an air pump you have to use to get it started. It is a Rosco 8213F. I need help to find out what kind of fluid it takes to produce smoke. Does anyone know, or have experience with this machine? I would really would appreciate it
