It would be fine if 46.26 was used for tones only and no rig traffic. You would never be able to transmit from a rig.

FIRST OFF......BEDFORD POLICE DOES NOT DISPATCH BEDFORD FIRE. KEF249 IS BEDFORD VILLAGES BASE AT THE FIREHOUSE. THE COUNTY DOES NOT USE TRAILER TONES. MOST BASE STATIONS AND PD'S USE ENCODERS WITH TRAILER TONES. 60 CONTROL ALSO STACKS THE SIREN TONES TO ACTIVE SIRENS OR HORNS. FOR EXAMPLE BEDFORD FIRE HAS DIFFERENT TONES FOR FIRE AND EMS. THE EMS TONE BLOWS THE HORN LESS TIMES THAN THE FIRE TONES.

The County should switch to plain language while also adapting MDT's or the use os status buttons. Tompkins County in upsate NY utilizes the status buttons. It cuts down on all the BS radio traffic. County Dispatch acknowledges the unit after they receive the change in status. Also updates the CAD which frres up the dispatcher to do other work.

Are you going to replace Engine 162?

No news yet. I think the County Board of Elections has to certify some voters.

One word sums it up...........UNIONS

Lucas and Hurst are the "Big 2" on the market. We choose Lucas becasue of the excellent service and support we receive from Matt and the crew at AAA Emergency Supply. Lucas and Hurst are now owned by the same company.

The new E-119 will be real nice if it is similar to E-61. Good Luck with the spec process...Remember585.........Hopefully you will see a new Seagrave Tanker/Pumper coming to a northern westchester fire house real soon .

I agree with chris498. Purchase will have one of the nicest fleets in the county. I saw the plans for the new Seagrave Rescue. It is very nice. Engine 240 is also a a nice rig. SEAGRAVES..............Can't beat em!

No way will a Smeal or ALF out last a Seagrave. We must all face the facts. You don't see FDNY using Smeal or ALF. All of the donated Engines saw a very short time in the front line. Seagrave is still superior!

Engine 61 is a real nice Seagrave.

With the exception of the "Rev". and and few other guys, Stat-Flight dispatch was horrible. Nobody knew the area and took forever to figure out streets and locations.
-
I would have to disagree with the Seagrave bashing. They are still the most superior manufacturer in the business. KME and others are a far cry from superior. I think this is an isolated incident. Let's take a look at FDNY. Seagraves stand up to the beating and keep on ticking. In addition, all the leading manufacturers are copying Seagrave. I also very confident that Seagrave would correct any imperfections.
