I used it back in 2000 while working in Colorado. The S.O. even took it to the local mall for a recruiting event to show it off right after they got it. Back then it was too video game feeling. True but all of the welfare money could be used to offset the costs of other programs such as fire, police and education. What about all the lotto cash that goes to the Schools??????? Maybe if they spent less on stupid ads then the schools would get more money from them.

Actuly the main problem in NYS is the largest employer in the state WELFARE!

Colorado passed a Tax amendment in 94 or 95 that mandates any tax increase over a certain percent had to on the ballot for the general election for the state. This includes all taxes Are they like NY HELL NOthey have a much better economy, lower cost of living and and are increasing services to the communities and new Counties and towns have formed in the last few years that are thriving

Wow so all the other states in the country with a 2% tax cap must be really screwed up by now. Oh wait nope they are doing 10 times better then NY because it made the Politicians be FINANCIALY RESPONSABLE

I do not know if Sing Sing has an engine but I will ask when I return from Vacation. Every NYS prison has a fire brigade with turnout gear, SCBA (scott 2.2) , hoses and nosles on carts or vans depending on facility and several have engines, with some brand new engines delivered in the past year. All SCBA certified members of the Fire Responce Team are required to have FF1 and have 8 - 16 hours of fire team training per year. I wonder what the damage total will be since the state is looking to close up to 4 prisons and the local politions are asking for Sing Sing to close since therr is little ecanomic impact on the area from Sing Sing and there has been several inquires to purces the property over the years.

Why not there are some Dept.s that have the commercial EMS contracted to their areas respond on AFA's. What use in a Ambulance at a fire if the Engine is 15 minutes behind them consoling the home owner as they watch their house burn down?

Remember the owner may also have a good reason to tell you not to fight the fire so before chaging in find out why. One of my friends reloads Ammo and probably has close to 10,000 rounds of ammo plus powder, lead and other related materials and I would not want to try to fight a fire at his house.

I don't know about the actual certification however I was referring to the fines that are imposed in the ever increasing surprise inspections at local ER's when a bus drops off or picks up. I do know that if you want to take a unit out of service and not replace it there is a small fee involved since that seems to be the trend locally with a lot of FD's that have manpower issues. and I have seen some real crap on the road lately that are being called an Ambulance since as long as there are no exhaust leaks into the patient compartment and the ambulance has a valid NYS vehicle inspection sticker they consider it mechanically sufficient.

Also something to think about is State Housing in NYS for CO's assigned in the Hudson Valley and waiting the 5 - 10 years it will take to transfer home to Northern and Western NY. Some share apartments with 15 - 20 people sharing a 2 or 3 bedroom appt. and there are state owned "dorm" settings in some areas. Imagine going into a 2 bedroom appt and finding 2 bunkbeds in the living room and 2 or 3 bunkbeds in each bedroom.

I have used several vests over the years. Every environment from Bike Patrol on the Las Vegas Strip, High risk prisoner transports and EMS in seedy areas and like Grumpyff said the have to be custom fit to the person, even more so then turn out gear. I also went to a demonstration that a PD used to get new vests in Nevada and I personally shot my old vest (6 years old) and a 9mm round went through the front panel, mannequin torso and was lodged just under the rear carrier for the ballistic panel. They also require special maintenance since you can't just throw it in the wash when it needs to be cleaned. I would not feel comfortable trusting a "hand me down" vest. The other person got rid of it for a reason.

Most stadiums are private property so the owner can decide to allow weapons or not. Then again if you are carrying a "concealed weapon" no one should know you have it.

It has been a stipulation on every permit I have ever had that being under the influence nullifies the permit, thus making it illegal to have the concealed weapon.
