NYS DEC police. I saw it in use at a river drill in Staatsburg a couple years ago.

I would not want to be in that pilots shoes during that landing. I wonder what the pucker factor on that was. Also I wonder if there will be any follow up stories about this. Utah, Colorado and allot of other mountain states have started to charge for rescue if they determine that the victim should not have been in the area (lack of experience, alone, unequipped for area)

I don't know if its possible or not. however I do not find it a problem and in today's computer age its to easy to steal photos. He puts allot of time, energy and even more expence into his photography and I think its good that he puts his copyright on it since it is some of the best fire photos I have seen. Keep up the great work Bill and when are you going to give photo classes I can't use the wife's digital rebel for crap

I have not heard anything about this and NYS DOCS runs a secure unit there. I will look into this and if I hear anything I'll post it.

at least it was still floating. What was the cause motor problems?

POJO News Poughkeepsie man crashes motorcycle after attempted wheelie There was no indication alcohol or illegal drug use played a role in the accident, according to police. The crash is still under investigation and charges are pending. I think its safe to say intelligence and common sense weren't factors in the accident either.

RIP

Is there going to be coffin boxes or other storage on the top? Or maybe some seats from a Double Decker bus so the city can multi tack the rescue to public transportation, or fundraising tours
-
Yes that would be it.

OK I'll take a chance here but first off its not a minivan but an old Buick or Olds and since I had one I can vouch that it appears that it is going to be either oil or trans fluid since with older domestic cars you stop to fill the oil and check the gas The bottle is black plastic and looks like Wal-Mart brand cheap motor oil.

The question of second sets of turnout gear and numbers brings up an unfortunate sore spot. If you have 100 members on paper how many ACTIVE members do you truly have. I know of several Fire districts that pad the numbers by not dropping members from active rolls even if they haven't stepped foot into the fire house for training or on a call for 11 to 12 months. How useful is this person to the rest of the rank and file. I have seen gear sit in a gear room of volunteer stations for months and get sun faded and if you take it off the hook on the wall its different colors it sat so long. Should 2 sets of gear be standard. Career staff HELL YES. Active Volunteer members meeting a preset minimum of training, responses and rostering if implemented Hell Yes Inactive volunteers No and consider doing things to get them more active. I am not a big fan of spare off the rack gear since turnout gear is like any other top end suit or parade uniform and should be tailor fit to the wearer. What costs more $5,000 to pay for a set of gear or the cost of a funeral and litigation

An incident of this magnitude multi county tones should be transmitted just like storm warnings

I miss old truck 2. It sure would have been nice to have been able to hold onto it for a parade rig when it was replaced
-
Looks nice and it's great to see a Dept. putting seized vehicles to use for good. I however would have used 4" letters and stated "Seized in Drug Bust" so that people don't think the spent the money to buy it. I still remember people complaining about Empire Ambulance buying the H2's for Putnam county, and they are a private company. I wonder the upkeep cost compared to a Tahoe or Expedition.

rest in peace
-
that way when the truck is sitting diagonally or completely across the road they can direct traffic in the direction they want. Fire apparatus makes a great barrier on scences

prayers to family and friends of JCPD officers involved and hopes of a speedy recovery.

I just got a Vertex VX-3200U radio and it came with software and cables but since I have never tried to program a radio I would like some help if any one knows how to program it.
-
unfortunately its a serial connector for the cable and it looks like a DOS program. My computer is running vista and did not want to let me run the program.

Esopus FD website The station is on the left side of 9W while heading north. Between Highland and Kingston. Its a fairly new and beautiful station.

They were planing to go across form Marist next to Home Depot but they got denied a Liquor license when the plaza was first built from what I have been told. I also heard that a Chik-Fil-A was going to open in Poughkeepsie as well?????

I wondered what happened to my daughters camera Bill I think you should try to organize a county photo training class. I know I would pay to learn some tricks from you.
-
not really they have moved a lot of offices out of NYC. Also they were doing SWAT training in Poughkeepsie today instructed by FBI from LA from what I have been told
