NYS Dept of Labor child labor laws prohibited occupations worker protection for workers under age 18.

so is negative gone or not??? I see it looks like it is back but I don't see a need or use for it.

and the article is only just over a year old. By the way if you look at tax as percent of home value you see that Westchester is not even close to the top 10 if even in the top 100. are you talking about highest taxed amount then yes its up there but so is the average income. sorry but no sympathy here.
-
why does it matter? I feel the worst thing to do is put different levels in different gear. It confuses the public, and promotes career vs volunteer animosity.
-
Fire calls I don't think should be billed for however what about MVA's. How many MVA's did you have then look at how many of those were tax paying residents of the district vs. people driving through the district? I don't sugest sending bills to people only insurance companies.

I agree Real names are a must. We are all adults or at least should be, It's time every one grows up and acts like it. posting incidents is a way to learn from what is happening around us, critiquing incidents and openly discussing them without censorship is the only way to learn. NOBODY IS PERFECT, I have screwed up and guess what, I learned from it and won't make the same mistake twice. I will make new and different mistakes

thats like comparining a turd to a turd I drove a sprinter ambulance and it was the biggest POS I have ever seen. The company I worked for was actuly happy when 2 of the 3 they had were totaled I saw the Ford in person the other day at a dealership and think its not cut out for what we would need from it here in the states.

I hope that the DA is investigating this as well. As I read that report it definitely looks like a case of gross negligence.

with all that weight suspended from one point I would be concerned about warping or bending the frame depending on how long it was hung up and what part under the rescue was actually hung up on the post. It looks like the tire bent the cab out behind the front wheel.

negative rep will never work. as a Mod of another forum I can tell you we tried it and ended up banning several members after things turned ugly and ended in personal attacks. I think that Positive Rep is a great idea but I would get rid of negative rep immediately if I were you.

There were several FF's on the roof. However that pic is just a moment in time the ladder may have just been positioned and raised after the pic was taken. I would want the ladder raised higher then that if I was on the roof.

I am not trying to start a pissing match but how many Volunteers do they have any more? I remember they were having trouble with membership like the rest of the volunteer agencies out there.

Very good point. It doesn't matter what the ambulance says if it never shows up.

Sorry my bad. I was thinking about Jeff. Jeff is or at least was the FSO (fire Safety Officer) at Green Haven and the Glenham chief for 2008 I believe. I was half asleep when I replied. I talked to Jeff and his father a couple months ago during training and I believe that George was his grandfather and that he may have also been chief or a founder of Glenham FD. I know that the entire Cable family was honored by Glenham for their combined years of service.
-
He was the Chief of Glenham last year or so. Best of luck to BVAC however I do agree with others that the public is prone to temporary stupidity and could get misled by the name now that the have Paid staff.

I think it looks good. The only thing I don't like is the idea of white LED's to the rear. They will blind traffic behind the vehicle or approching at a scene. Do all of the clear lights shut off automaticly when the car is put into park or just the headlight flasher?

When is the last time you priced parts for an EOne, Pierce or and fire apparatus for that matter. any Diesel engine parts are expensive I don't care who makes it. Good luck with the vehicle. I wonder how much money was saved by purchasing a "stock" vehicle over ordering custom and then having to wait for it to be built.

concidering I was born in the hospital across the street from the engine in that photo's station I can tell you that they do have sever frezing issues. The Chicagoland area is subject to weeks of subzero temps every year and with there call volume there are times that that engine does not make it back to quarters for almost the entire shift. It also halps since they don't use salt in that part of the country do to rivers and lakes they use treated sand and would you want sand constantly being blown onto damp pump contrlols. The one quote that I will not forget in a long tile was at my Grandmothers funeral in December 2000 in Downers Grove. - 10 degrees F with sustained 30 mph winds. "Crap its cold, how do people live here." said by my wife as she blew across a parking lot standing on the ice.

how do they pick the classes to offer? I would go up but I want classes that aren't constantly offered at DC911 (if any are, since the last few I have tried to get into were canceled or at lease postponed till 1/1/2099  ).

The only problem with that is ti would require the parents to stay home too. As the husband of a teacher I constantly hear parents complain about being inconvenienced every time school closes. Most parents today only see school as free day care unfortunately. I would say that in the 10 years I have seen an average of 10% - 20% parent involvement in their child's school activities or academics. Half the reason I continue to choose to work over night is to be involved in my childrens lives as much as posible. in contrast to some one I know who pays a babysitter to watch there kids when they are home in the next room.

Whats the big deal most hydrants are owned by the water dept not the fire dept to start. The MTA has been renting out ad space on buses, bus stops, subway stations, and so on for years and I don't hear anyone complaining even though we just spent how much to bail out the MTA????? If some one wants to pay to put an ad up great but I hope the money gos to make sure that the hydrant works.
-
If this is such a big deal then pay to have the plate run by the DMV. Its easy enough to read the plate in the video and some of his pic's. Remeber thanks to FOIL there are almost no secrets anymore.

This is true the Government uses all kinds of companies to outfit its vehicles and equipment, AND THEN SHOVES A NON DISCLOSURE down your throat. So if this is a FED vehicle which I highly doubt I would say someone else in a vehicle with lights and sirens will come a knocking. If this is a VIP vehicle good for them, if tax dollars paid for it, I don't really care since I see much worse wastes of tax dollars every day at work.

Call around. As far as Dutchess they do not use a "list" for part time positions.
