Yea thats the same problem mt. vernon had years ago it was basically career vs. volly and eventually the voulnteers got pushed out. It was too hard to follow the chain of command with officers and chiefs being on both sides.
-
doesnt look as good as the old ones but hopefully they were built better!
-
Does anyone have any mt. vernon photos in background/ wallpaper size?

Anyone know the status of FDNY's New Pierce Rescue 1? Im sure its got to be completed by now and possibly even delivered. I would love to see some final shots of this rig if anyone has any! Any FDNY guys know when it is going into service? Thanks in advanced!

csfc1311 thanks for the info! Is that they way they are dispatched over the radio or does each department have their own dispatch and are just reffered to as the las number in the series?

I think that there deff can be too much lighting. People think that if they look like a christmas tree that people will move and not get hit, but sometimes is the opposite. a person passing on the other side of the road may take a double look at the rig, car, or bus, because it was lit up like crazy. I think you have to use your judgement on what your responding area is. Also the new reflective backs on rigs I think provide a great new addition to reduce the need for lighting by using the other motorists head lights to show were you are rather then blinding them. Just a thought.

You will have to challenge the state test. Most states wont take another's cert but im not sure what happens if you are nationally certified, im pretty sure New York is unique in not accepting anyone buy New York's cert. but not positive maybe someone else can help us out...

Heavy fire load would deff be a concern depending on what the fire floor is and how close it is to the top floor. Looks to have an escape ladder giving an alternative plan of egress along with a fire escape on the adjasent exposure. Just a few first thoughts

Yea here in Florida you can take the class and do the clinicals at 17 but cannot take the state test until 18 and it has to be withing one year of completing the course. We dont have voulnteer emts where I am so im not sure the legality of signing a run form but I have to agree with 66alpha1 im not sure you can sign because you cant really be held legally responsible but im not sure how Ct handles things

A redesign of the set would be cool to make it more modern might get some new viewers!

Nice shots! What does the comapny numbers mean? Is it a Putnam county thing or does it go by station? seems like a lot to say over the radio or are they dispatched diffrently?
-
looks like from the voting that they are going to try this out. does anyone have this in effect currently? I like the idea but if you catch a job the first day you will be hurting on calls the next. Its going to be intresting to see the trial results

haha I bet there was a firefighter and doctor already on scene too
-
what about it is making it so great? is it cheaper or more fuel efficient? and how much does it add to the cost of the car it self? seems like its not worth it until there are some more stations
-
any one have any pics of the firetrucks?
-
are the officers on the helio cross trained in rescue for use of the stokes and all or would they put a firefighter or someone trained up in the copter if it was necessary?
-
I think its just a newer form of the boruke shields which I know some guys like just to make sure the helmet is OSHA approved so this would probally suit them
-
what departments still allow the 3/4 boots i know boston is one of them

I agree unless your sleeping I never saw too many people strip down before putting bunkers on
