I have a 1000 channel Radio Shack portable 800mhz trunked radio I picked up for $175.00 only thing I dont like about it is its range since its a handheld. It even recharges the batteries internally and I would reccomend it for short ranges but not as a home scanner unless you upgrade antennas

yes I agree it was a nice save, but they shouldnt have made the turn so quickly even if the fire was 4 more blocks away there were so many people standing there they should have been cautious and ready for anything

I agree with the above it all depends on what fits your needs. A truck needs to perform truck tasks suck as searches, forced entry, or venalation. I think that having a pump and having to act as an engine my somethine impede on what their functions are. But again it depends on your department and needs.

from what I heard there is more to it then that. some sort of fluid leak, possibly hydralic fluid, not positive though. Ladder 2 was recently fixed but during testing was sent back after finding cracks in the ladder, mt vernon just cant catch a break; the new rescue is in service I believe though.

I didnt realize there was this many mt vernon guys in the emtbravo post's. Im Scott Ketcham; Lt Harold Ketcham's son from florida, the kid always riding out up there during the summer It's cool to see the pics and vids from mt vernon seeing i only get up there about 3 times a year.
