  1. In today's world - We all worry about the threat of disaster, natural or man-made. We know that animals are especially vulnerable when disaster strikes and that many animals must rely on human intervention to ensure their safety. In 2004 New York State adopted the SART program to address its animal-related disaster response needs. This 1 Day training Conference / Seminar will be held on April 11 at Putnam National Golf in Mahopac, NY. To read more about this program visit: http://www.empiresart.com/ To Register go to http://tinyurl.com/y7q7te As of right now 30 people have registered for the course in Mahopac in Putnam County, NY. Space is limited. I was asked to try to get the word out about this conference / seminar. Thanks PC415
  2. Just wanted to pass along this info for those of you that may not have gotten the training bulletin from FASNY - We all know how communication can be in the Fire Service. Obviously, I am promoting the one that is being held in Putnam County but there are many other opportunities throughout the state you can register for on FASNY's website. The seminar called Every NY Responder Goes Home. It is being held at Putnam County TOPS Building, March 21st at 7pm. The link below brings you to the registration page for Putnam Counties date. $10 bucks. http://www.fasny.com/core/events/eventdeta...ting=TE32107PUT PC415
  3. My opinion is that anyone that has anything to do with the fire service, ambulance service or any supporting service should attend this seminar
  4. NORTHERN FAIRFIELD-NORTHERN NEW HAVEN- NORTHERN MIDDLESEX- NORTHERN NEW LONDON-SOUTHERN FAIRFIELD-SOUTHERN NEW HAVEN- SOUTHERN MIDDLESEX-SOUTHERN NEW LONDON-WESTERN PASSAIC-BERGEN- EASTERN PASSAIC-ESSEX-HUDSON-UNION-ORANGE- PUTNAM-ROCKLAND- NORTHERN WESTCHESTER- SOUTHERN WESTCHESTER-NEW YORK (MANHATTAN)- BRONX-RICHMOND (STATEN ISLAND)-KINGS (BROOKLYN)-QUEENS- NASSAU- NORTHWESTERN SUFFOLK- NORTHEASTERN SUFFOLK-SOUTHWESTERN SUFFOLK- SOUTHEASTERN SUFFOLK- 429 AM EST SUN FEB 11 2007 ...POTENTIALLY SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM COULD EFFECT THE TRI- STATE FROM TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH LATE WEDNESDAY... AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OVER THE SOUTHERN PLAINS MONDAY...THEN TRACK EAST TO THE TENNESSEE RIVER VALLEY BY TUESDAY... WHEN A SECONDARY AREA OF LOW PRESSURE WILL FORM OFF THE SOUTHEAST COAST. THE COASTAL LOW BECOMES THE PRIMARY LOW BY WEDNESDAY MORNING OFF THE VIRGINIA OR NORTH CAROLINA COAST. THIS LOW WILL INTENSIFY AS IT SLOWLY LIFTS NORTHEAST TO EAST OF CAPE COD BY THURSDAY MORNING...AND TO NOVA SCOTIA BY THURSDAY EVENING. COLD AIR WILL ALREADY BE IN PLACE ACROSS THE REGION AHEAD OF THE STORM AS HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS IN FROM SOUTH CENTRAL CANADA FROM MONDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY. THE COMBINATION OF THIS COLD AIR...AND ATLANTIC MOISTURE BEING PUSHED INTO THE REGION AHEAD OF THE STORM...GIVES THE POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT SNOW FALL FROM LATE TUESDAY THROUGH LATE WEDNESDAY. BEST INDICATIONS ARE THAT SNOW SHOULD DEVELOP TUESDAY AFTERNOON ACROSS NORTHEAST NEW JERSEY...THE LOWER HUDSON VALLEY...AND METRO NEW YORK CITY...THEN CONTINUE TO OVERSPREAD THE ENTIRE TRI-STATE TUESDAY EVENING. CURRENT EXPECTATIONS ARE FOR THE HEAVIEST AND STEADIEST SNOW FALL TO OCCUR FROM LATE TUESDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING...WITH THE SNOW TAPERING OFF FROM WEST TO EAST WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING. THERE IS STILL QUITE A BIT OF UNCERTAINTY ON THE EXACT TRACK AND STRENGTH OF THIS STORM...AND ON HOW FAST IT WILL MOVE BY THE AREA. WITH A TRACK FURTHER WEST THAN EXPECTED... THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR SNOW TO MIX WITH RAIN OVER EASTERN LONG ISLAND. IF THE TRACK IS FURTHER TO THE SOUTH OR EAST THAN EXPECTED...AREAS NORTH AND WEST OF THE CITY COULD END UP RECEIVING LITTLE IF ANY SNOW FALL. IN ADDITION TO THE POTENTIAL FOR A SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL...PROLONGED STRONG NORTHEAST WINDS AHEAD OF THE SYSTEM LATE TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY HAVE THE POTENTIAL FOR PRODUCING MINOR TO POSSIBLY MODERATE COASTAL FLOODING AS WELL. BE ALERT FOR FURTHER UPDATES ON THIS POTENTIALLY SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM.
  5. Just wanted to write and say all dispatchers did a great job this morning in Putnam during all those calls during the End of the "A" line and beginning of the "B" line starting at 0720 and ending around 1000 hours. Dispatchers 407, 414, 419, 421, 426 and myself (415) were working. You all kept cool heads about you and did an excellent job with all the PIAA's, PDAA's, all the 911 Cell calls and duplicates, EMS Calls, Fire Alarms, 911 Hangups, 911 Out of County Calls and almost Ice Rescue in Put. Lake. It's an honor to work with such professionals. I would also like to say a job well done to all the FD's and Ambulance Corps out in the field. Even though there were a lot of times everyone was stepping on each other everyone kept very professional and did a great job. Last but not least, Would also like to put a shout out to Westchester, Dutchess and Orange, sounded like you guys were busier than normal this morning too. Great Job All!! Take Care and Stay Safe! 6. I was introduced to Yuengling while going to Penn State from 96 to 2000. Great Beer loved it. When I graduated and got back home I was having a hard time finding it in NY in 2000 - 2001. Almost no restaurants or bars carried it or even heard of it. I still run in that problem to this day here in NY, the lower hudson valley. About 2 years ago I started seeing more and more Yuengling delivery trucks around and it is much easier to come by now. Hopefully it is making it's way East and our boys in New England will be getting this wonderful draft very soon!! Stay Safe
