  2. Got mine today, passed, and now I guess I'm an EMT
  3. I don't know how it happened, but it looks like some one would have to try to allow this to happen. Hope this doesn't happen to any emt or patient I know. http://www.break.com/index/worst-ambulance-ride-ever.html
  4. I have the Warrington Pro 5006 and I love it. They are really nice, more comfortable than my Nike's. Ive gone walking around on ice with them too and they werent too bad. Ive only had them for a month or so and they have only proven themselves to me more and more. Then again, I havent really had a chance to really put them through their paces.
  5. Im pretty sure if you tell the county, they will patch the two channels together on that alarm. When we First activated the trunk system, we had a MVA and I remember hearing the ambulance and the medic arrive on scene via the radio. Then again, thats the only time I ever heard it, and maybe I was just hearing things.
  6. For the record, country music is not my cup of tea. But I think KROC played the same Foo Fighters songs so many times that it drove people crazy enough to actually think about turning it into a country station.
  7. Those good old invisible backboard straps just dont work like they used to.
  8. Nice vid ny10570.
  9. Fire and EMS are two very different things, they require different people to do the jobs. Granted there are some who love to do both, but not all of us. What needs to happen is not lumping them together, but to keep them separate yet focused. Let the Firefighters be completely involved in fire and the the EMS workers be completely involved in medical situations. That way, everybody is great at what they do, and they can be focused on it. The only thing that needs to be done, is for Fire and EMS to work together well, taking their specific knowledge and combining their skills to effectively manage an emergency scene. I'm not advocating that nobody has any knowledge of the other, both sides should know the bare basics just so they can understand each other at scene. Frequent drilling is all you need between the two to create an effective team and expertly handle a situation. However, this is just my opinion.
  10. E29 was definitely in the right. Thats the most responsible thing to do.
  11. This guy had another idea, if this doesnt grab somebody's attention on the road, I dont know what would.
  12. #4825.5
  13. your right danb, I wasnt sure on that, thanks for correcting my ill assumption.
  14. yeah im in the 8600's, too bad I dont have a parent in the fdny, that legacy credit would have ensured me a job.
  15. Did you have any extra credit added on to get that score?
  16. I hear volvos are some of the worst, never had to do one on a volvo, but I know the A pillars are almost impossible to cut through. A sawsall is usually the only way to get through the post, expecially on the new C70 convertable.
  17. Its been in and out, some times it loads on the first, somtimes on the second and sometimes on the 15th.
  18. I got a 90 and I'm ranked 124 and I turned in my app the day you could at like 10 am. So I dont know if that many people turned it in before me or that many people got a 95.
  19. haha I got mine today . . . and I would probably be happyer If i didnt see my score . . oh well
  20. I just took the Denver Regional test and I get my results within 5 days. I dont know why the county takes so long to get the results out.
  21. The harness over the shoulders is a fall arrest harness for training only. The Cost of the system including the EXO, the Gemtor and the training is in the neighborhood of a thousand dollars per person, however, its a small price to pay for something so valuable. Once you have the training your allowed to purchase a second unit, all I know is its 505 for the belt and EXO. Its really a failsafe system, the only thing that can fail is the person who is using it, its built with a 15:1 saftey factor and you can tell that a lot of time and thought was put into not only the design, but way you use it too. The guys who do the training are great, by the end of the day they had me and a few others doing it blindfolded. Great system FTW
  22. do they ever take their foot off the Q?
  23. Im sorry, but if your going to have an arguement, i believe that is something that should be done on more of a private plane as to not destroy the positive environment of the forum. This is a childish thread which both should be ashamed of for perpetuating. Not to suck up or anything, but this is a really good, well devoped site from which many enjoy its use. And I would like to see it stay that way.
  24. I think its funny how if you say something remotely profane, you get barred from possibly having valuable input on topics. Its kind of like shooting one's self in the foot, blocking the purpose of the site on account of a few expressions.
