  9. Date: 09-03-07 Time: 1700hrs Location: Pacific Beach- Mission X Reed Departments: San Diego PD Description: PD responded to a fight on beach and were turned on by approx. 100 people. See text below. Writer: Truck4 Links: http://www.cbs8.com/stories/story.101665.html "At least 16 people are arrested after riot police are called in Monday to control an unruly crowd at Pacific Beach in San Diego, officials said. Witnesses said the problems started just after 5 p.m. when two police officers on four-wheel all-terrain vehicles tried to break up a fight on the beach near the intersection of Mission Avenue and Reed Street. Some beachgoers tried to push one of the ATVs into the ocean. The officers called for backup after the crowd began growing and becoming more rowdy, police said. Witnesses said at least 100 people began fighting on the beach. About 70 officers converged on the scene, including a contingent of about a dozen officers in riot gear. Some people in the crowd began pelting officers with cans and bottles, police said. Officers responded by firing pepper balls at the crowd. Police arrested more than a dozen people and cleared the area and also blocked traffic on Mission Avenue between Reed and Pacific Beach. It took officers about 90 minutes to bring the situation under control. One beachgoer was treated for minor injuries. One police officer suffered a twisted knee."
  10. Only took 6 years to come up with this. If civilians want to help, they can join a CERT team, Red Cross, Salvation Army...... There's been so much talk about how easy it would be to initiate a secondary attack by blending in with civilian volunteers, yet it took 6 years to put something on paper.

  23. Check out: http://www.onthejobny.com/gallery/Specials/ Pic of Engine 3 in the SFFD apparatus gallery. I've been out to SF a few times the last couple of years. I was actually there two weeks ago. I'll be adding about a dozen more apparatus photos the next few days. Engine 1, 3, 7, 10, 11 are 5 of the 10 running the new ALF's. The SFFD sends the new rigs to the busiest companies. The replaced units, which may only be a few years old, then go to the slower companies for replacement. The slower houses will not usually see a new rig. For example, Engine 1 was running a 2004 model and is now running a 2006 ALF. Engine 3 runs with Truck 3 near Polk X Post. They have a lot of frame 3 and 4 story OMDs attached in thier first due, heavy fire load. PM me with your email address and I'll send you station locations.
