  4. From the AP: "The firefighting training academy will reduce its program from 23 weeks to 18 weeks to save operational costs. The mayor, who drew criticism when he closed firehouses to save money during his first term, also plans to eliminate nighttime engine companies in five firehouses that also have ladder companies. The move allows those firehouses to stay open but with fewer firefighters at night."

DEP reports building is evacuated. DEP meters read 10PPM, as high as thier meters would read. DEP believes the readings are higher than 10PPM inside. 2325hrs- B-19 req. PD to shut down Reservoir Road from 204th St to Bedford Park Blvd. 2332hrs- B-19 rpts Using All-Hands with an exterior operation taking air samples. No readings on the exterior ATT. Haz Mat 1 with a (7) minute ETA. 2335hrs- B-19 S/C a 2nd SOC Support Truck w/2nd piece in case decon needs to be set up. 0000hrs- Haz Mat is suiting up for entry. Co's setting up Decon area. Command Post is 100 yards south of the building. 0024hrs- Div. 7 rpts Haz Mat has made entry and is conducting interior operation. 0026hrs- S/C extra Squad to conduct monitoring on Exposure #4 side.
