Date: 12-23-08 Time: 1550hrs Location: 88 Devonwood Lane X Route 123 Units Operating: New Canaan, Noroton Heights, Norwalk; Vista (Westchester), Pound Ridge (Westchester), South Salem (Westchester) Description Of Incident: Fire throughout a large P/D. Writer: Truck4, BKeane http://www.acorn-online.com/joomla15/index...8&Itemid=90 1625hrs- M/A Bedford Hills to cover Pound Ridge. 1626hrs- M/A South Salem Rescue and manpower. M/A Darien to cover New Canaan. 1628hrs- Command to all units, cutting water supply for one minute to put in Y 1629hrs- Command to all units, the Chimney on D side is about to go. Norwalk Engine 1 to command, Chimney is leaning severely. 1630hrs- Westchester County B-13 reports a major collapse of the roof. All members withdrawn from the building. 1633hrs- Vista re-tone for interior firefighters and a driver. 1640hrs- Darien Engine 42 on standby at NCFD headquarters. 1645hrs- WC B-13 advising incoming NY units to park off Route 123 and walk in. Manpower needed to the front of the building. E-141 enroute. 1649hrs- M/A Ridgefield to cover Vista, NY. 1650hrs- Truck 3 calling for water, CL&P truck being moved by NCPD. 1657 Multiple units requesting more pressure 1659 Pound Ridge Car 24 to New Canaan Car 1, status of relay pumper? Car 1 states working on it now 1700 Ladder 3 to command, supply is connected to the ladder 1702 Cutting supply line to bring Noroton Heights into position to relay pump 1706 Major collapse of roof around the chimney, make sure all units remain clear 1719 Division C reporting Large volume of visible fire on Floor 2, could hit it if they can get a water supply to the rear. Command reports still working on boosting pressure on main supply line 1723 Engine 2 to command, all equipment on fire scene in position and ready for water 1731 Division Charlie states one 2 1/2 in operation. Still trying to get more water. Taking some glass on the 1st floor, fire showing in multiple locations. 1745 Command to Division Charlie, whats your status? Writer: Truck4 0115hrs- B-3 rpts heavy fire from the rear of a P/D. 1st Alarm: E-18, 11, 7, 5, L-7, L-3, B-3, R-1, Safety B/C, MSU, B-1, Car 30 0118hrs- S/C Squad 4, L-6 to scene. 0120hrs- 2nd Alarm transmitted. Heavy fire all floors in the rear. Fire through the roof. 2nd Alarm: E-15, 6, 9; L-9 0132hrs- 3rd Alarm transmitted. 3rd Alarm: E-22, 13, L-11 0135hrs- Co's lining in through the basement. 0142hrs- Heavy fire 'D' side. 30 minutes in duration. 0144hrs- E-7 rpts heavy fire threatening Exposure B. 0149hrs- Command pulling all companies from the building and going to exterior attack. Sounding evacuation tones. 0151hrs- Co's rpt no fire in Exposure 'D' at this time, operating a handline out a window. 0152hrs- Roll call underway. 0155hrs- All co's accounted for. 0157hrs- Co's reporting very heavy fire conditions in the rear with (2) lines operating. 0200hrs- B-3 rpts co's taking lines to the roof of Exposure 'D.' Heavy fire through the roof. 0215hrs- Heavy fire in the cockloft with partial collapse of the roof in the rear. 0225hrs- Co's rpt fire darkening down in the rear.
