Units Operating: YPD 4th PCT, ESU Description Of Incident: City worker encountered a male armed with a rifle in the parking lot of Untermeyer Park who fled.   3. Date: 01-15-09 Time: 1527hrs Location: Hudson River X W. 50th St Description Of Incident: US Airways 737 crash landed into the Hudson River with all passengers and crew accounted for. Writer: Truck4 1527hrs (appox.)- US Airways Airbus 320 struck birds just south of Fordham and Van Nest sections of the Bronx. 1529hrs- Bronx receiving numerous calls for an explosion from a commercial aircraft over the borough. 1530hrs- Bronx transmitted (2) boxes for an explosion from an aircraft. Bronx CO advising B/C's that Queens CO is in constant contact with Airport Tower and are monitoring the aircraft which is attempting to conduct an emergency landing. 1531hrs- Numerous reports to the USCG over Marine Ch. 16 of an aircraft down in the Hudson River north of the Intrepid, west of mid-river. NY Water Taxi's nearby and responding. 1532hrs- Manhattan transmitting box for a plane down in the Hudson River W. 50th st. X Hudson River. 1532hrs- R-1 urgent for plane down in the river. Marine 1 also transmitting Urgent for aircraft down and transmitting 10-60 Major Emergency. (2) NY Water Taxi ferries already on scene and removing victims. 1535hrs- Transmitting 10-60/2nd Alarm. PD and FD units commandeering vessels, including the Circle Line and responding to the aircraft. 1540hrs- NYPD Harbor, USCG, FDNY Marine 1A arriving. Units rpt numerous passengers 'standing on the wings.' 1550hrs- Numerous NY Waterway ferries along with NYPD and FDNY Marine 1 A removing numerous victims from the plane and transferring victims to the ferries. Ferry crews throwing life jackets and flotation devices into the water. 1551hrs- Div. 1 wants major EMS response to Pier 81. 146 passengers and 5 crew reported on the plane. Aircraft is drifting south. 1555hrs- USCG rpts numerous resources enroute from Homeport. 1558hrs- Units operating at W. 30th St. Heliport, req. a staging area be established there. 1600hrs- NYPD ESU rpts divers in the plane have conducted a preliminary search of the plane. R-5 boarding Marine 9. 1602hrs- Numerous victims have been removed from the aircraft, ambulatory and undergoing triage. North hudson Regional FD and Weehawkin PD establishing a triage area and staging for EMS at the NY Waterway piers in Weehawkin for incoming victims. 1609hrs- Units at Pier 79 rpt 30-40 victims, no serious injuries and need blankets. Airport reports aircraft has 21,800 gallons of fuel on board. 1612hrs- Army Corps Of Engineers responding with a heavy salvage vessel to secure aircraft. NYPD Aviation conducting water searches from point of landing to Chelsea Piers. 1615hrs- FD SOC Dive Unit responding with 5 divers. FD Command Post now at 21st St. X 12th- Chelsea Piers. 1617hrs- Waterway ferries and other large vessels are standing down. FD/PD attempting to secure the aircraft from sinking until Army Corps vessel arrives. 1621hrs- PD is reporting the pilot is at Pier 79 and is reporting that ALL passengers got off the plane and onto the wings. 1626hrs- FD operating at (3) locations on the waterfront from Pier 79 to W.23rd St. 1629hrs- Marine 9 enroute with 20 minute ETA with E-153, L-77, B-21, R-5 on board. 1635hrs- EMS reporting (54) vicitms in triage, (2) transported. No serious injuries ATT. 1647hrs- Nassau County Police and NJSP helicopters standing by at the 33rd St heliport. 1651hrs- FD staging area W.42nd St. X 11th Ave. Command post is again being moved south. 1705hrs- EMS treating multiple passengers for hypothermia. 1715hrs- FD/PD securing Battery Park City Pier for the aircraft. Units towing the plane to the pier. CMD S/C (2) Engines to respond and set up (2) foam lines. S/C: E-7, 205 1520hrs- Aircraft is being secured to the seawall ATT.
