  1. Ahh, DFFD227- you learn quickly, Grasshopper.
  2. Tremendous! Bronx TL-31, www.news12.com go to News 12 The Bronx After responding to a water main break at about 1020pm last night, the rig sunk through the street. They s/c Rescue 3 and couldn't get it out. As of noon today, it was still there.
  3. Nice shot DFFD227. It looks just like a picture published in WNYF a few months back...;-) I heard this crazy story about you climbing 7 flights of stairs in the dark and fighting with an angry, drunk custodian to get that shot.
  4. So basically depending on the manpower, the number of rigs to the scene (including mutual aid) is not necessarily indicative of the size/scope of the job in Greenburg. Good to know. Thanks!
  5. Date: 12-8-03 Time: 1707hrs- ongoing Location: Forest Ave Frequency: 154.100 Description: Private Dwelling Writer: Truck4 1735hrs Fire in 2-1/2 story frame. Fire K/D E-56 to bring a fan to attic to vent. Req. fire investigator
  6. FDNY sent 2 engines, 2 trucks and a BC to the job.
  7. It seems that when any of the Greenburgh departments request a "2nd alarm", it's really more of a 1st alarm/working fire equivalent. Another engine would make sense, but like you said, it's more of a 4 and 2 "all hands" type thing.
  8. Photos of this job are up at www.thejournalnews.com (in the daily gallery)
  9. I'll give you this, so far: Engine 1-1967 Mack C95 Engine 2-1971 ALF (originally assigned to E-1) Engine 4-1968 Mack C95 (second part of the order with E-1) Engine 8-1961 Ward Engine 13- I have as a '58 Ward Engine 14-1958 ALF Ladder 1- 1968 Closed cab ALF (first closed cab ladder) Ladder 5- 1958 Open Cab w/hood, I believe later replaced with an open cab tiller. From 1956-1958, Yonkers purchased all ALF mid mount 100ft ladders. Three Ward pumpers were bought in 1961. Aside from this and what's listed, the white cab/red body ALF mid mount was delivered in 1972 and went to, I believe, three different co's over time, including 76, 72 and 70. Take this: Yonkers purchased a used engine from a Westchester department prior to 1975 and placed it in service. Which department? (this should be easy for you). P.S. Sorry, this isn't based on memory-I wasnt born yet. It's just enthusiast knowledge;-)

Rescue 1-Station 1 5-7 New School St. For you: Where was the old Station 3 before Vark St.? You'll know the answer because you were most likely on the job back then. :-)
