Date: 3-16-04 Time: Approx. early afternoon. Location: Clarendon Ave. X Lockwood Ave Units: 1st and 4th PCT. patrol units , ESU Truck 2, 3, 4, K-9, supervisors, detectives. YFD-E-312, 310, 306, 309 L-75, 72, R-1,B-2 Frequency: 46.500/484.7125 Description: Fire in basement of OMD. Writer: Truck4 YPD 4th Pct. units sent to address on Clarendon Ave for a landlord tenant dispute. Upon arrival, found a fire in the basement apartment of an OMD. Backup units observed a female w/minor burns flee the building armed with a handgun. Numerous additional units responed and a became involved in a standoff in the street. Woman surrendered without further incident. Fire was mostly contained to the basement with slight extension to floor above. Further info to follow.

L-35 to bring line down driveway. 2133hrs- Car 2263 rpts. 75X40 2 -story wood frame P/D, 2 L/S- 1 in operation. Co's opening up and the fire is knocked down. 2127hrs- Re-tone for manpower. Frequency:453.500 Writer: Truck4/DRD/DFFD227/BFD1054 1852hrs- req. add'l trk to scene. 1857hrs- Car 2512 req. L-32 to exp. A side and set up under window of fire apartment. 1905hrs- Car 2512 req. additional Eng. and Trk. (L-34) to scene and recall of off-duty manpower. Also req. E-71 relocate to HQ. 1906hrs- Co's removing occupant of fire apartment to the stairwell ATT. 1909hrs- Car 2512 req. M/A 2 engines and 2 trucks to cover HQ and Sta. 2. 1911hrs- Mutual aid Greenville E-151 and West Harrison Tower Ladder 9 to Sta. 1, Fairview E-174 and Hartsdale Tower Ladder 15 to Sta. 2. 1917hrs- Fire has extended to floor above. 1921hrs- Interior co's recommend hitting the fire from the outside. Units still removing occupants from building. Another line (2-1/2) to floor above. 1923hrs- Car 2518 manned by recall FF's responded with air bottles. Command Post is in lobby. Another line going to the 4th floor.

-Roads were closed due to a double stabbing and weapon recovery in the area of Park Hill Ave/Nodine Hill/School St. -The fireboat is out of the water.

From 1859 until 1896, the City was all volunteer. There were 19 Volunteer Fire Co.'s in Yonkers at the height of the YVFD. I'll post them when I get a chance. In 1896, six men were hired to "maintain a perpetual watch for fires" and "to keep horses and apparatus ready to go to a fire" from the firehouse at 18 Palisade Ave.

Thanks for the date, I'll add it to my list! I also read about the horse drawn muster at the Maryland Fire Museum in honor of the Ann. of the Great Baltimore Fire. If only I had weekends off. Who's Drowning Pool's new lead singer?

I havent been. I've heard a lot about it. I always end up moving around my schedule to fit in the West Paterson show and end up missing the NJMFP night. Buffy- Are you talking about Croton? I'm also looking for the date of the North Bellmore, LI show if anyone has it.
