As of early March, ALF was putting bids in for FDNY contracts for the first time in several years. As per the head of the FDNY shops, it is unlikely that they will be accepted.

Wasn't that the huge union argument against the quint? The reason many departments have gone to the quint, especially vollies, because if you have the manpower to do both jobs, you only need one rig. Cities have used the same points as Richmond to cut FF jobs. They talk alot about the "quint concept" at the Richmond FD website. As far as the manpower goes, they had about 80 FF's at this job. By comparison, the Yonkers fires on Bronx River Rd. and Nodine Hill had well over 100 respond (YFD and M/A). Are these guys doing more with less? Do you think this movement will become popular with municipalties again, especially with today's economy?

Clarkstown PD enroute to Nyack side of bridge. 0010hrs- ESU Truck 4 advising vehicle has been stopped on bridge, Nyack side on the bend. 0013hrs- ESU R/C 850 advising 10-23 (under control) w/ 1 in custody by NYSP.

Rescue 4 did have an accident a few months back. It is currently in the shops in Queens and looks pretty good.

ESU runs 3 E-rigs and 2 supervisors from 7am-11pm with an additional 4-6 ESU P.O.'s in cars and however many K-9 units working a particular shift. From 11pm-7am, there's 2 E-rigs, with an additional 2-4 ESU P.O.s in cars and however many K-9's are working that night. At times, the overnight shift will add E-rigs as the personell are available and run 3 trucks. Also, in the summer, the Marine Unit (with 2 ESU officers) will run R/C 852 and respond to ESU jobs as needed.

Numerous PD units and YFD full assignment responding. 1812hrs- R/C 900 advising all PD units to stage on Greystone Pl. and treat as suspicious incident and follow appropriate protocols until proven otherwise. 1816hrs- E-308 10-84, 10-20 (nothing showing). 1824hrs- R/C 400 req. traffic Units to shut down Warburton Ave from Arthur St. to Odell Ave. 1829hrs- B-1 rpts. possible transformer explosion.
