Description Of Incident: 2nd PCT Auto-Theft units observed suspects breaking into vehicles that were picked up by a stolen car. Vehicle fled down Kimball Ave chased by numerous units and struck a YPD car at Nevada Pl. Suspects crashed at 233rd St. and were caught after a brief foot pursuit. FD req. for smoking vehicle. ESU set up a rope operation from floor above to reach victim. After intial assessment by ESU, officers brought an Empress Paramedic down shaft for pronouncement. Suspect was apprehended just hours before Officer's funeral.
