Thanks for the advice fjp, my class used the ifsta firefighter essentials book which covers CT firefighter 1 and 2, the building construction chapter was less than 5 pages!!! and in-light of the tragedies in Charleston, Boston, and in even in NYC, I think that this topic should be further stressed.

about 3 months worth of class

fire one is a great class, i just wished that the fire one book would spend more time on building construction.
-
Im shocked, this should be on the daily show or the Colbert report, how I can imagine the jokes that this black eye could bring. Seriously all these bad and downtrodden things that keep plaguing the fire service need to stop, the P.R from this is not needed. I wish the media would highlight all the good thats done on an everyday basis. Not the bad stuff that happens once in a blew moon when the bad apples rot

the engines that they replaced were very old and worn out mack cf's, engine 41 was a 1975 with a refurb in 89, while engine 42 was a 1984. Darien has the largest district in town and the most runs(they also cover i95) these engines saw allot of use and they needed to be replaced. DFD has the largest checkbook in town (if u get my drift)
-
that is correct, i think engine 42 is owned by the town and engine 41 is owned by DFD

I pray to thee almighty and just, that these brave men's families are comforted, and that their deaths are not in vain. Fallen Rest now my fallen brother Lay soft your suffering back Rest well and forever Your memory shall not lack Rest your tired hands Wipe clean your weary brow Rest with St. Florian Your spirit now endowed Rest here your breaking heart We know you gave your all Rest easy, you’ve done your part You’ve answered your last call Rest knowing that in god we sought Oh lord, watch over another who just fell Rest assured your troubled thought As we ring the final bell. ~author unknown~
