The article states that his house keeper found him in cardiac arrest

If you know how to judge distance and drive with the mirrors correctly than that takes care of the two issues you stated. if you shear off one side of mirrors than when reversing you line up the truck (in this case ambulance) to whatever side the remaining mirror is on and use those rear wheels as your pivot point. As you learn to drive the ambulance of fire truck you learn a great deal about how to judge the distance out of the mirrors because you have to watch where your rear wheels are from curbs and other hazards when making turns as well as setting them as your pivot point while reversing.

Is it true that the CSP cars can have lighting modifications done to them by the trooper?.....I have seen some pretty tricked out ones along I95 (in the Troop G area) and some insane light packages up north in the state are these troopers allowed to do this or are they breaking CSP rules?

I thought that hose threads for the fire service were universal throughout the United States.......There was an conflagration in Baltimore I think that brought that standardization right?

you need to read bro.....I Clearly State that I am APPALLED WITH THE ACTIONS OF THE CHIEF.....THE CAREER STAFF DID NOTHING WRONG IN THIS CASE !!!! THE VOLUNTEERS IN STAMFORD ARE FEW AND FAR BETWEEN......THE SYSTEM IS DYING AND SHOULD BE DEAD IN A FEW YEARS.
-
The actions of the chief are childish and an extreme over reaction. The situation could have been handled diplomatically and everyone could have been siting down at the round table to figure this out. as a volunteer myself from the area I am appalled at the actions of not just the Springdale chief but the actions that the city has taken in the past. This has to be resolved in a way that the citizens are still the top priority and everyone can coexist in peace, to protect and save the lives of the citizens and visitors of the city of STAMFORD

Recently I was looking online at TDA's, and the only builder that I could find that made them on a Spartan Chassis. well was the company owned by Spartan, its Crimson Fire; this got me thinking....... Is Crimson Fire a quality builder of apparatus? Are the aerials made by Crimson themselves? If your department has a Crimson built rig, would you purchase another? thanks, sr71

LTI is owned by American LaFrance now.

I think that this is a good idea. there is so much to learn on this forum, and I do see it as an aide to training. but the special forum topics is sometihng that i do not agree on everyone should be able to see everything discussed in the forum

good for him!! I wish him well and may he be safe while giving the city many more years of service doing the greatest job in the world, in the greatest city in the world!!!

the fdny woud not be using the helicopter to repel a esu team onto a building would they?......lol this is just like when they get accidents in the city who runs the pin jobs and whose right is it....i think the city can get one donated if they try
-
this is something that is always discussed at my firehouse between the "old timers" they used to do allot of relay pumping and drafting in sections of my town. but as time grew on and hydrant and water mains evolved, this art has been lost. I think it should be practiced and taught. because one day a scenario that will entail a relay of a draft will come up and we (as departments) need to be ready for anything that is thrown at us
-
I think that they should get one. even though the fdny and the nypd air units are working fine (as i see it) i still think that a department of this size, with its amount of high-rise buildings and the amount of fire should have at least one helicopter for air recon and search and rescue.

good job by the driver/chauffeur for protecting his crew. he was approaching the intersection with caution and it paid off.
