in darien we paint the telephone poles around the hydrants in a T the I part of the T faces the Hydrant and we paint in dirrfent colors which tell us the gpm of the hydrant. and we also have the flag markers where the hydrant isnt in plain view.

when i went there last week, and the tour guide told me that they had an engine on site i started thinking mabey its a ex fdny seagrave? or a old fdny mack? or a quint. i was wondering if any one had any pics of it or any info on what kind of apparatus it is. thanks sr71

second the led thread and the burnout thread
-
i think it depends on the dept. at mine we call our apparatus by there apparatus number for example "get the gell blanket out of 32". 32 is our first due piece and its a engine. or " get the tarps out of 30" thats our ladder but when we run mutal aide we have the tendency to say engine or ladderand or truck, and rescue so thers no confusion.

when im at work or at home and im avaible to go to calls i go. because in my town and in the vollies you never know whos showing up and how many people will be there. i could show up to a fire alarm and only 4 other guys are there. or a fire and you get everyone. but its usually the same old guys who do everything and in the summer the college guys do more but now when its just the older guys and us highschool kids we have to pull our wieght and than some.
