where i live the fd responds to all medical calls along with the bus from norwalk hospital (or one of the mutual aide bus's from darien, new canaan, wilton, wesport, which is happing increasingly more often on those busy city nights) and the police also respond and issue patient care if they get there first. and in darien where i volunteer, the police respond to every call for help, and for ems calls us fire depts dont respond unless its for a lift assist or something, but post 53 (the vac) is the main ems provider in town along with als assistance from SEMS (stamford emergency medical services) or Norwalk hospital paramedics sr71

they really stood out at night and on the highway. And, when growing up, I rarely saw red fire trucks. The ones i saw were white and yellow (my volley house had 2 yellow engines) So this is gonna feel funny, seeing a red NFD engine racing out by the field where i spent much of my youth playing soccer at that wall.

is it gonna have the same specs as the current norwalk engines?

ferrara in production Here is the link for the new Norwalk Ferrara. It looks to be an International chasis with a Hackney body. Anyone know what this will be used for? The new contracts page says its gonna be a hazmat.

i have a question about the sirens, are they the electronic or the old air raide stype siren? and who made them?

I love how the media portrays these officers as dirt. and how the "murdered" friends are saying that there going to get justice. the media fails to tell us the whole story and that these officers were defending themselves from a guy who tried to run them over. they were in danger and they had to shoot to stop the threat. there was no other option

i agree 100% with you izzy, its not our job to save animals from the poles. thats the power company's job. and if the animal was stupid enough to go up the pole than it deserves to die. i think that the lives of the first responders were put in danger for nothing

and the oldest apparatus in the city that are front line are engine 1, truck 1, and rescue 2. engine one is going to be the first new red engine in the city than the rescue and truck co's i believe are going to go out to bid if they allready havent yet.

nope norwalk switched to red now from what my cousin who is on the job in town has told me and from what the head of the shops down here has sead to us(he was the ex chief of the heights)
