  1. Nice shots, best of luck with it... Hopefully catch you in some great shots with it sometime....
  2. Nice photos of a great prop, sometimes you have to look right at home to do training, meaning putting the training oppurtunities in your own back yard. Looks good, good luck with it guys. Now, just purely on an observation point here, we all can agree that every job needs a supervisor, but really one in a Class "A" uniform??? (See the first couple pics)
  3. If you look closely at all the in production units, you will also find Marlbough (Ulster Cty) Engine and Hillside (Dutchess Cty.) Tanker there too between Arlington and Pawlings units.
  4. You know what the whole scary thing is of this Garrison taking over the SVI line? Let's see as you mentioned, they used to deal Saulsbury, then E-One bought them out and they went belly up... Then they were the dealer of ALF and then ALF went belly up... Now they have Ferrara adn are making a dent in placing them out there in firehouse's, and now SVI will maybe be the next sight we see around many firehouse's in the area... But will this mean one of these manufacturers will go belly up next??? Just a thought to ponder.
  5. Looking very nice, wishes of Good Luck for you when it arrives.. Hope to catch it in some action shots when it is working somewhere..
  6. The topic started here is to find out some direction of question in the Topic Title. A little background on the subject, the other day a local Fire District was requested to respond to another District's firehouse for stand-by coverage on a relocate and the requested Department responded with only two individuals, a Driver & an Exterior/Support member, on the rig and were met at the Stand-by station by one of thier Asst. Chiefs... So, in reality what was this rig that relocated ready to handle should they had to go to a AFA, Structure Fire, MVC or even an EMS Call ??? So here are the questions this topic brings out that I would like to have some input from all you out there on. Should an Engine or Truck when they are dipatched to a neighboring District for stand-by relocation coverage be staffed with just anyone? Just a Driver? or Fully Staffed with Qualified interior people in every seat? and Should they all come on the rig? or Can you have Engine or Truck respond and have the proper personnel meet that rig in the relocate station? and Who Decides this? The District being requested? or The District Requesting the coverage? What is your protocol and who decided it?? I welcome all and any comments and thoughts on this topic. Thanks in advance..
  7. Well, I want to thank all who have posted replies to my post here. There have been several very good and informative replies and input. Although some have ventured off the topic and not addressed my post. Seems as if everyone is going towards the the standard of sending to a stand-by relocation whatever would be expected to handle any call that is dispatched for them to respond too and being able to handle it while you are relocated. In short if you are going to relocate to stand-by, do it with proper amount of manpower (FILL THE SEATS, if possible), and have those filled seats be qualified (INTERIOR FF's) to handle almost any and every call they could get sent too. Maybe the best way to think of this is if you were asked to stand-by as a hockey player for a hockey game you wouldn't send a football player to the rink with a baseball bat would you? Please do not stop posting your replys, keep the thoughts and ideas coming and but please stay in line with the topic and answer the questions above that are in the original post. Thanks again...
  8. Here is a shot of New Hackensack F.D. (Dutchess County) Engine 52-11 at the local dealer waiting for some delivery work to be done.
  9. That is true, not a strobe light. Yes it is a scene light over the rear doors on both sides. As an added piece of info, the big box over the rear doors hides a large telescoping folding scene light too behind it.
  10. This is not my departments rig, I just happened to be at the dealer for a rig fix on our Ambulance when I seen it there. I am sure that the department it belongs too will be served well by this rig..
  11. Nice restoration job, well done.. Looks good and will enjoy seeing it in some future pictures I hope.
  12. Nice Looking Pictures... What a beautiful piece of antique history and to be restored in such wonderful condition is just priceless.. Croton Fire Dept. wishes for good luck with it and picking up many more trophies.
  13. Great looking photo, nice backdrop.. Weather be bad, weather be good, we all get some awesome pics of rigs sometimes in their normal atmosphere they are serving. This is actually one Great Pic...
  14. Here are a few pictures that I took at the Columbia County Fair Parade yesterday. Fire department from all over the area in Columbia and surronding counties participated and enjoyed the beautiful sunny weather.
  15. Rest In Peace Brother.. My condolences to the family and the FDNY...
  16. Ncie looking rig, good luck with guys...
  17. Mark, again some more great pictures... Ok, I have to know how did you do the pencil sketching look on a few of them??
  18. I would venture to say the answer to this question is because they have not ordered and taken delivery of anything new since the first of 2009.. The NFPA standard clearly says that any new vehicle order and purchased after January 1, 2009 is to have the reflective striping on it. or Maybe it is because they are NEW YORK CITY and above the standard. (Just like they were with the "New" NYS Rescue Rope regkulation which they were exempted from because they were one of the departments serving a population over 1 million people, even though the regulation was mainly written because of a situation that ocurred in NYC)
  19. I am pleased to announce the opening of a website I have started for Engine Company #3 of the Roosevelt Fire District in upstate Hyde Park, NY. I welcome all to stop by and look over the website, plenty of pictures of current, past events, incidents and apparatus. I would like to say this website uses a simple format that can be found by using yourfirstdue.com, a fire/emergency service based website creation software site, so thanks to the ease of use from Your First Due. The website can be found at http://www.rooseveltengineco3.com I would welcome and invite everyone to stop by and check it out, sign the guestbook and invite anyone that wants to give comments on how it looks. Thanks, Bill
  20. Great job Justin... You should get those pic and little story to go with it to Mr. Meyerson to put up on the district and locals websites... Great job with the Black and Whites, they look superb..
  21. Nice photo of the Metro-North with a lead New York Central "F" series locomotive on it...
  22. This lady needs to suck it up and deal with it... If she was parked in the Fire Lane, she also should be ticketed with illegal parking there and be lucky that is all she gets.. Then shame on her for only having the minimum insurance, it is what it is and get's only what she gets... What is to come next can we all start billing for the fuel we use to go to these calls for an emergency, can we bill for our services and time, etc.. Where will this crap ever stop ? ? ?
  23. So I guess these so called fire departments that are complying with the CDL rules are going second or third call to get off the floors then for calls... I mean if they are truely following the CDL rule then they must do a pre-trip inspection of the vehicle before responding then... That inspection includes checking all lights warning and general operation, fuel levels, oil levels, tire pressures, fan belt tensions, tread depths, mirror alignments and air brake checks before they respond to a call... Ohh lest not forget that if they find oil level low they have to refill before running the vehicle, replace any lights that are burned out or take the vehicle out of service, etc... Come on, another unmandated law from our great politicians who have no clue as to how our system works... Pressure your politicians to revoke this silly law now....
  24. Looks like a nice job by all involved and limited damage to the residential portion of the house I hear... Great stop and nice job using the Battallion 4 tones concept... Maybe this is a concept that should be implemented elsewhere in this county, we are all suffering from lack of manpower... And, Mark the fact that you mention you stayed back to man an engine shows the good discipline that is also needed to still protect all others while the firefight is going on... Great job everyone...
  25. Thanks for allowing the photos to be posted Peggy, you got some nice shots... Fully involved, looks like they had their hands full...
