Weather Conditions: dry Description Of Incident: Male in late 20's with severe penetrating trauma to right side chest, transported by Medic35 to Jacobi Hosp in critical condition, moved to OR shortly after arrival
  2. All of the photos posted here are of Empress EMS personnel and were taken during a training and evaluation day. The day began with classroom instruction and testing, followed by practical evolutions. Practical exercises took place without HM PPE and then in non-encapsulated, and finally in level B encap. It would be quite interesting to post some pics together. As for the feasibility "on pavement" I think it can be done. It at least has possibilities.

I/A/O Dunwoodie GC Units Operating: YPD ESU, 2nd, 3rd 4th PCT, WCPD; YFD E-307, L-73, R-1, Safety, B-1; Stat Flight; Empress EMS Medic-35, Medic-37, Medic-38, Tac-7, Supervisor 304 Weather Conditions: Dry Cold Description Of Incident: MVC Head-on high speed (Civilian Vehicle vs. Yonkers Police Radio Car) While proceeding to Jacobi Hospital with Empress Medic-35 (which was transporting a trauma from an unrelated incident)the on-coming vehicle reportedly crossed the double yellow line narrowly missing the Ambulance and striking the YPD Vehicle. Both PO's transported to Jacobi Hosp., the civilian vehicle required extensive extrication and the occupant was eventualy transported to WMC by air. Writer: 305 0358hrs- R/C 403 struck by a civilian vehicle. Req. units forthwidth. 0405hrs- ESU Truck 4 extricating (1) entrapted Police Officer. 0410hrs- YFD putting tools into operation on civilian vehicle for driver pinned. (2) possible injured passengers fled vehicle. 0415hrs- (2) PO's enroute to Jacobi by Empress with WCPD escort. Stat Flight req'd for suspect. YPD req. additional WCPD units for assistance. No YPD units available ciywide. 0430hrs- All YFD and ESU units operating on civilian vehicle. AI requested.

  10. It's always nice to have something different to drive; change is good. We always take the time to put our spin on whatever specialized vehicles we use and I think we have a really good mix of vehicle types. Whether it's the big 4700 International Truck with MCC, an F-250 with utility body, Explorer, Expedition, Tahoe, or even a work in progress like the soon to be converted Ford ambulette, they all serve a purpose and enable us to effectivley use our resources. Oh, I forgot, stop picking on truck 301 lol
  11. I'm not sure which photo your referencing, but the only yellow item which is worn on a members belt is a Radiation dosimeter. (Mini-Radiac)

  13. A typical training evolution, including deployment of an inflatable Zumro decon. shelter and the use Ska-Paks (Scott Escape Bottles) and a mobile air supply cart.
