87D124 liked a post in a topic: NYC "REMSCO" Radios?
-
The Radios are part of an effort to utilize non-FDNY EMS participating agencies in a more cohesive manner than in the past. The system is for command level use as opposed to individual use by a responding unit. Many other NYC based agencies or agencies with C.O.N. inside NYC have them. Agencies outside that description do not have them and as such would, or at least should be, responding to any potential requests for resources from NYC by informing 60 Control after they have been asked by NYC, or more likey by SEMO.

Thanks for your input. Does anyone else have anything to add? EMS, PD, and FD MOS are all asked to reply. What areas do you feel / think EMS providers are lacking?

I'll bet you were expecting more photos, I will post some soon. But I have a question for anyone that would care to offer their input, What would you consider the top 5 goals and objectives for an EMS drill or exercise?? Be specific, and please exclude the usual definitions...

While I'm at it, here's a Pic of one of the New Empress EMS / WMC / STAT Units...

Empress EMS SOD personnel with Montrose VA Haz-Mat Team member at the Paladin Center. Paladin Center personnel did a great job constructing a mock Meth Lab. During the event Montrose HM simulated entry and evacuation of patients to the Warm Zone where they were met by Empress SOD members who provided Decon. for both ambulatory and non-ambulatory Pt's. Thank you to all the Paladin Center personnel and to the members of Montrose VA Haz-Mat.

Well these aren't quite Tommy's Tahoe but its always nice to get new vehicles so here are a few pics of some of the latest. None of these have done a job yet, but will be out on the road in a few days..more on the way...

I'm glad the truck is out there too. We have taken steps to make the other Supervisor units, Paramedic response units, and non-SSM Fly-Cars more versatile as well. We are adding or increasing the amount PPE, MCI management/response equipment, and more to all these units. As for the "301". We had such bad luck with the last truck, and I say this with all due respect, the numbers and/or name do not belong on this one. We will however have too create something more suitable and permanent.

They piss you off or you just want to be in them. In either case you have an open invite.

More Pics coming soon... check back

Truth be told it will be used by all the field supervisors and rotated in and out of service based on the day of the week, 3 days on one day off, or something similar. Just seems to be the best way to keep some of the rolling stock in the field. We will still switch between this truck and the Expedition or Tahoe etc. But I would much rather have the resource there if needed. All but one of the compartments are dedicated to Haz-Mat support, decon, medical monitoring, and limited rehab type equipment. It should work out well. Let me know if you have any thoughts , or want to stop by etc. MJ

Just a few shots of the newly remounted F350 Turbo Diesel SOD Utility Vehicle. Equipment carried by this unit includes, 1 full set of ALS gear. Immobilization for up to 4 pts. Emergency decon items, PPE / CPC for 10+ providers (levelB), as well as EMS/USAR PPE, and a bit more.
-
Just some photos of a recent training event. A chance to ensure that everyone is familiar with the varied equipment types and become more comfortable using it. Thank you to all that participated and for all your hard work.

Is now when the thread ends??

I’m by no means issuing an open invite to large scale futility. But I would like to see who might really be interested in beginning the process towards something that might actually be useful. At this point I would welcome a table top exercise with bordering agencies. A drill would be nice, a functional exercise after that and so on.
