i use a bb 8703e from verizon. i like it . i also keep a nextel too. i think att is a better company and they have the curve. the curve is nice because it is a full keyboard and it is thin. this way you can keep it in your shirt pocket. verizon service is good but the customer service sucks if you need help they send you to many different reps and they are no help. i remember when i wasa with att their customer service was much better.

I agree VAC has become a old and outdated term. How do people feel about the XYZ Fire Department Ambulance. this i feel is another outdated term. Why not say the XYZ Volunteer Fire Department EMS.

You are operating at scene whether a house fire, mva, ems call, or any fire related call and you are told to do something by a seinor officer chief or line officer but what has been asked of you is unsafe or you don't feel comfortable becasue you think its unsafe, what do you do or say. Or better yet you are on the scene of an mva and you are a ff/emt tending to a pt and a fire chief who is not medically trained at any level is giving you orders about what to do with YOUR pt in a very unprofessional manor, how do you respond. I ask these questions becasue i would not like see an arguement spin off, but more advice on how members can deal with everyday conflicts that arise in the emergency services business and how to deal with them professionally.

I was wonder how many questions the National Paramedic Test is? Also, is the test set up the same way as NYS exam first you take the basic test and then the ALS portion?

does anyone know the company and model number of the black goretex that the state police wears?

Great 02 wrench that will not break. check out the website http://www.wantynu.com/

i feel that the choice to wear one or not to where one is up to the individual. while many people might say that ems workers are not cops why do we need one. also many members of this forum preach scene safety and I cannot agree more but whose not to say that the scene can go south very quickly. thats my two cents.

my dept has been using globe and i have used both globe and cairns. i purchased a set of morning pride a while back and could not be happier. i feel that it is lighter and much more room to move around in compared to other gear. it is definately cut larger then all of the different mnf out there.

As I read through this topic it has begun to spin off into a paid vs volunteer and funding and how many teams, manpower, and etc. If we look at the first post it says there is going to be a meeting. I think before people jump to conclusions they should attend the meeting and then see how they feel.

how does a dept go about getttting a replica made up for their truck??

i myself work in the nyc ems 911 system for a voluntary hospital. i work side by side with fdny fire dept and ems and from what i see both sides get along fine. we have different job descriptions. When it is a high priority call such as trauma, cardiac arrest etc an engine is assigned and the guys are always really helpful. so in the long run i don't see any problems.

i cant wait to see it. i wonder what kind of light package it will have because highway dept has the light bars that raise up?

does anyone feel that the new lic are being made also because of possibilty terroist making fake identification? i say this because if a young person under the age of 21 wants beer or get into a bar all they need to do is get some color pencils to change numbers then what would stop a terroist to fake an id to board a plane.

NRFD i think it is best to go through a motorola dealer if you want new becasue u will get warranty info plus they will do freqs. ESS in elmsford is directly connected to motorola and i believe they r a department or group of motorola. i also know they sell kenwood. you can always contact motorola.
