I was under the same impression JBE. When you are reporting for duty, If you get hurt in the parking lot of the Firehouse you are covered or it would be made so.

I agree with the cold responce and staging away, far enough away. There needs to be good communication between the police dispatcher and ems/fire dispatch that the scene is safe and to proceed in. Lights and siren do not make up that much time. Mabey 30 to 45 secounds.

E-one will only paint a set of roll-ups once,or replace them with the stainless roll-ups. This happened to Pleasant Valley on their Rescue 56-55. The paint started to bubble really bad near the edges of the doors nearest the tracks. So they went with the metal finish.

Subaru Outback since there is no frame for the window around the door.The "B" post has multiple layers of metal.I think 4 layers. The B post just from the top of the door frame to the roof weighs about 20 to 25 lbs. Very hard to cut even with the HURST EXTRACTOR. You are better off cutting it with a sawzall. As people have said in other posts,some of the crossings have been closed because of serious accidents. Some of the crossings in Pleasant Valley and Clinton have been closed totaly buy a guard rail. Then about 50 feet south of hibernia rd you can cross over going from west to east. Hollow rd intersection is closed totaly.Rossway rd was not closed because it would take Lagrange longer to get to those calls on the other side of Rossway rd , so they are still Pleasant Valleys. I will try to get some pics and try not to cause an accident in the process.

I think you can't even begin to compare the ride in our old type 1 to our new type 3 . The big thing in ours is that it is set up alot better than the older ones, the ride is %110 better and the repeat patients have let us know. They are set on the R.V. chassie. Those bumps on Jefferson st. and Lincloln ave. on the way to Vassar aren't that bad anymore.

The Arlington type 1 is a spare aka 32-74. 32-71,72 and 73 are all type 3.

You are 100% right it is a free country. As I stated the Chief and commissioners of the departments involved should solve the problem. Not a member or X member that has a problem with the powers that be. Instead of stirring up trouble on a message board if this person is so concerned go to the fire department or town government and let them know about it and actually get the problem solved. Also maybe the chief has his own reasons for calling who he wants and its not what we think.

I am just saying that srs should not be the spokesperson, and if he is a member in a near by department will his officers tell him to be quiet. This is an issue that the Chief staff or Commissioners in the districts involved should solve. I would not be willing to put my own head on the chopping block. Future fireman, I don't know how long if at all you have been involved in the fireservice, but having a problem with a neighbor is not good. You seem kind of young to be giving that kind of opinion. Not defending them but it may not be an ego thing. We don't know. Will someone from Hugh....... or Newha..... please end this by giving some info.

You are supposed to stop a red lights even with lights an siren anyway. I do agree though not all calls require a hot responce.

You had the same opportunity to take the fire test as everyone else. Don't be mad you took the Police test. As a police officer you have some pretty good perks too. Don't hate us because u aint us.
