JOB114 liked a post in a topic by nfd2004 in Videos to HONOR our Police, Firefighters, EMS and Military
I would like to introduce you to a lady who lives in Oklahoma and who has taken the time to honor all of our police officers, firefighters, EMTs/Medics, as well as our military. Her name is Linda Wells and she has produced many videos to honor those who serve us each and everyday. Those who risk their lives for us. Those who have been responsible for saving so many lives. It is her way of saying Thank you.
I believe (?) she has become a member of this site with user name "imlost2you". Her goal is to do a video honoring these members of every state in our entire country.
She has quite a story to tell of herself, including being a POW for 47 days. I salute this woman for all she has done. I know she has done much more than I have ever did.
Here are just two of her videos that she has produced. They honor our Brothers and Sister Firefighters in both New York and Connecticut (my home state).
Thank you Linda for ALL you have done. (I hope these links work)

JOB114 liked a post in a topic by nfd2004 in A 9/11 Story
This is a 9/11 Story of TRUE Brotherhood within the fire service after the Tragic events of September 11, 2001. A story about an FDNY Rescue Company that lost all of it's members when they responded to the World Trade Center. A story about a FDNY Firefighter who dedicated himself to the children of those lost members, FDNY Firefighter Jo Jo Esposito.
There's hundreds of stories of people helping people after the Worst Attack in the history of America.
Here is that story of Jo Jo.

JOB114 liked a post in a topic by LTNRFD in Providence fire captain critical after leg injury.
Yesterday the Providence FD had a 4th alarm fire when a triple decker caught fire with 45mph winds. Exposers 2 & 4 became well involved on arrival of first due companies. The second alarm was struck by the first due engine. The third alarm was struck on arrival of the battalion chief.
Both exposures 2 & 4 are houses rented by Providence College students. This has displaced 19 students. All are seniors that will be graduating in 6 weeks.
During the interior attack of the attic of exposure 4, a PFD Capt sustained a leg injury. He was transported to an area hospital where during the evaluation of his leg the Capt's blood pressure bottomed out. He was admitted to the ICU in critical condition. He was intubated. He was diagnosed as suffering from cyanid poisoning.
Of the 21 firefighters injured at this and one other multiple alarm fire just as the first was winding down, one other was diagnosed with cyanid poisoning. 8 firefighters who were working in the same area as the Capt are being monitored for cyanid exposure.

JOB114 liked a post in a topic by x635 in Front Page Of EMTBravo.com Rebuilt
I completely rebuilt the front page of http://www.emtbravo.com/ . Although it looks exactly the same, I cleaned up a lot of the old unused code, upgraded existing code and wrote some new code on the backend. This should also make it render better on mobile devices. I will also be adding more features in the near future.
Can a few of you check it to make sure it's rendering/showing properly? I want to make sure.

JOB114 liked a post in a topic by x635 in The Call Volume Of Yonkers FD Battalions
Over the past few months, I've gotten into my scanning hobby again. I listen to Yonkers 24/7.
One thing I hear constantly is the 2 Battalion Chiefs running constantly. And if their is a fire, one of the Battalions is assigned as Safety.
I know a couple of years ago, Yonkers had a Safety Battalion. Was that cut due to budget issues? I'd love to see a Battalion 3, in my opinion the call volume of the Battalion Chief necessitates it. I'm wondering if there is a request in the current budget, or if there are plans to bring back the Safety Battalion or add another Battalion to the city at some point.
It's got to be a tiring job being a Yonkers Battalion Chief, running all over the city for most of your shift going to incidents, plus all the administrative stuff and paperwork they have to do when they actually get a chance to get back to quarters. Someone who has firefighter's live's in their hands should be appropriately rested and prepared.
