the problem the state has is with the ecogololists and army corp of engineers they will not let dot dig a new channel back away from the road so they keep raising it the saw mill goes into an S turn right there and when it rains real hard the water canot make the turn so it crashes up on to the road way we will see how long this last before the next flood detour signs go up tommorrow and project starts this week

sea-land fire was downtown portchester not byrum ct LOL AND IF I AM NOT mistaken there was so much ice that all portchester apparttus was frozen in place for hours after the fire was out and m/a units stayed in the village for like 2 days to cover while pcfd thawed out thier rigs

now what about the guy who cliams to have saved this person himself from what i have heard and seen he was no where near the fire much less in the building

this is an interesting subject because as if today in putnam cty there is only the put valley fast team certified. lake carmel and brewster gave up their fast teams they citied training as being the biggest time consumer now carmel fire dept has ok their personnel to begin trainning for a fast team at put valley hq soon chief lipton has said they can train but wants to make sure of the commitment of the memebers before he will sign off on the team and put it in service he also citied trainning as being very demanding they start as soon as the class in filled we will seee what happens

they also0 attended hvvfa parade and looked great in thier new uniforms hope to see them in mamaroneck this week , they won longest distance traveled by a explorer post in hvvfa parade at west glens falls

larchmont village did the same kind of thing a few years back now the dept is lead by the career capt with a volunteer asst chief

well so you know the dot is highway maintenece mainly i work in vallhalla ny westchester cty in order to get hired in ops which is what we do you need a class b cdl licence then once hired you have a yr to get 5 certs on equipment you may use like a lg dump truck a loader and one person plowing (opp) right now times are tuff in nys we just laided off all the seasonal workers who worked for the winter we hope to hire again during the summer there are seasonal workers in our parks dept and lifeguards at the pools and beaches which they are hiring now but other then that you have to check with each local office and county

well here we go again just because a town in this case a city has a problem with retention of volunteers we should go to paid ff'ers typical response hire. people need work the good capt was also a volunteer before new rochelle fd

well carmel fd is having their parade on june 9th at 7pm with the 200th celebration that putnam county is celebrating that week ,fireworks the whole nine yards. there is going to be a craft fair and events all day long should be fun

well carmel fire dept will be hosting their parade in conjunction with putnam county's 200th celebration on june 9th at 7pm on rt52 in carmel there will be events planned all day long as part of the county bi-centenial celebration the hi-light is to be the firemens parade and if all goes well fireworks over the lakefront that nite please come one come all

the town of mamaroneck has 2 wardens from each of the 4 companies and the 3 chiefs which make up the fire council which makes polices for the dept the town board is the board of fire commisioners and they are elected by the voters atthe election in nov.

Well it's time to gear up for parade season so here's one for you. Carmel FD is getting together with Putnam County to help celebrate the 200th annivesary of Putnam County and the 97th year of Carmel FD. The first combined meeting is Tuesday Jan 3rd at Carmel FD and all are welcome to attend and support 200 years of Putnam County.
