Carmel Fire Department is in the process of going out to bid on a new ladder to replace the current 2002 American La France tower ladder currently looking at seagrave, pierce and ferrara

the fire dept ambulances still canot bill ,only soft bill how are the district residents going to pay for this service other than though increases in taxes why not sit up an abulance district like the town of mamaroneck did for the 2 villages and the unicorparated area and have north castle as one big district and everyone gets the same service for their money , north white plains as well as banksville area in the town of north castle just a thought

as alot of us know LTI has been bought by Smeal and its now going to be called LTE inc. alot of there enginneers and shop people are now working for smeal so it should help with tech support

this call was originally report to mamaroneck pd as a fire and smoke in the area of mamaroneck road the caller didnot know exact location tmpd located heavy smoke and notified 60 control location was in scarsdale and scrasdale fire and police were dispatched

you say the volunteers have been taken out of the response for a few years now what is there job then in eastchester fire dept they used to be one of the biggest volunteer organizations in lower westchester along with mt vernon which also eliminated volunteers back in the 80s i think. now look they cant afford to pay people to do the job or even fix thier stations so the politicains say , do the volunteers in eastchester even have any say what goes on i do believe that the people need to get to the district meetings and see what is being done with your tax money and why they donot have better protection and equipment.

my only question is what ever happened to the volunteers in eastchester i know they are still listed as a combination dept .

seriously who would be qualified why bring in people from outside danbury area would it not be better to hire from within where people know the area and how it works

starting aug 25th thru aug31st the carmel fire dept will holding it carnival at shoprite plaza on rt 52 fireworks on Saturday night at dark

one thing see that doesnot make sense the dispatchers help with the losap how excactly do they do that and as far as a full time presence in town who sees them in a fire house answering phones

some of the depts giving aid to mt vernon are combination depts like pelham, pelham manor,eastchester and greenville ,fairview which are suplemented by volunteeers but donot let the volunteers go into towns or cities with carreer depts like yonkers, new rochelle,mt vernon years ago this was not the norm in yonkers for instance the first due dept was hastings on the east side and mt vernon with volunteers on board westside of town today that is not so probably 20+ years or so

i can remember going to my vernon on mutual aid in the 80s with the tmfd and a volunteer driver and man power the only difference now is my vernon has no volunteers and now they do not let the volunteers come in to the city they still ask for mutual aid from as far away as white plains and fairview fire depts. they just abuse the career depts instead
