  1. I disagree. Insulting the individual who stated how hot the fire was helps no one. Maybe it was really hot who knows I was not there and neither was Res24cue. Not every Volunteer agency is a group of jolly vollies. Assuming that is like assuming that every career FD &PD agency is professional and we all know yhat is not true. Focus on the good and you shall find good. Focus on crap and you shall find crap.
  2. I am not a regular EMTBRAVO poster but felt that your posts In this thread are ignorant, immature and juvenile. I am not sure what career FD you came from nor do I care but i can guarantee that you had members who did your municipality proud and others who coasted thru their years doing the bare minimum and did nothing to further move the fire service forward. Try focusing on what is right with the fire service or better yet join your local volunteer FD and show them how its done
  3. Bc this is ongoing and just came out this morning.
  4. What they are diing to him is reprehensible. And what your source reports appears to be true.politics rules again. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

  7. I went to the Scpecial Ops symposium in 2010. Gave me a greater appreciation for the hazzards involved in collapse, trench 7 confined space. One presenter let us email him for a dvd of his collapse presentation to show to our guys on drill night. They covered Marine and USAR ops. Not stuff I personally do every day or even every year but it raises awareness, funds a good charity, and as someone already pointed out was standing room only.

  14. Pride gets people hurt. Not calling mutual aid for pride reasons is stupid. Having FF"s in staging might not only be for relief purposes but it can also be there if things get out of hand. A good IC anticipates that things MAY get out of hand. Do not fault someone for thinking ahead or thinking with the worst case scenario in mind.

  23. also what i am about to say will be unpopular with many but i really do not care. this pertains to volunteer departments of which i belong to one.Since nYS and WC have many many FD's and EMS agencies to please it is the onus of these towns and villages to bridge the gap on training needed and not wait for 60 control to pick up the pieces. The AHJ (Authority having jrusidiction) IE the town or village has every right to book accredited standardized training (of which there area zillion companies out there who will come and do it) and as long as the training hours and curriculum covered is logged and stored then their members are trained. This training has to be considered more important then the $3000 LED light bars and otherfrivilous items that are bought with taxpayer money. I am painting the taget on my back as we speak so feel free to fire back those who do not agree but ask yourselves this: how can you disagree with training whether it be in house or at valhalla ?
