Just another hot headed cop for you. I can't tell you the number of times cars dodn't yield to emergency vehicles. It happens. Cops get too high tempered too quick sometimes. They sometimes escalate the situation with karate instead of diffusing it with intelligent conversation and rational actions. This Medic may of been in the wrong but you wait until the patient is out of the ambulance and the call is over to voice your concern over him not yielding. I would've been pissed too if a cop pulled me over and delayed my patient from getting to the hospital. Its just stupid. My 2 cents. Thats it. Not coming back to this this one.

I like to call them fist pumpers.. they always seem to be listening to dance music everywhere they go lol.

Seems like a great idea. Alot of people in the city use a 911 ambulance as a taxi service. I once had a guy call for chest pain just to get an ambulance. When we got there he denied any chest pain then made us carry him down five flights. When we got outside he got up walked over to the ambulance hopped inside and went to sleep on the stretcher. This is something that can really make a difference as long as people don't catch on and call in fake complaints like the guy above.

RIP Q Medic. I'm going to miss having you as backup at Medic 3. You've helped me out enormously. Definitely going to be greatly missed.

I was wondering why I saw MV's TL-1 on 9 up in Fishkill....

If I was in a flycar following a slow fire truck I would simply ask over the radio to pass by as a courtesy depending on the severity of the call. I would also expect the driver of the truck to wave me by as well. I see no problem in doing so as long as there is some comunication. Dont wanna piss anyone off you know..

I agree, I think the best thing would be having EMTs that aren't medic dependant. It would be a good idea to spend more time on pathophysiology and recognizing symptoms. The most important tool a Medic has is the knowledge to correctly diagnose a patient. EMT's already have everything Medics have to make a diagnosis short of being able to read EKG's i.e. Stethascope, BP cuff, Pulse ox. That would be a good start.

Don't over think on any of the stations. Do everything in order as you've been taught and you'll do fine. Just go with scene saftey, BSI, and the ABC's and go down the list. Thats all. No problem. Good luck!
