  3. It is permanent. Dispatch was taken over by 60 Control in the last week of October. Each station has a seperate tone alert on top of the general tone alert.
  4. The new 69B1 has been delivered. It will be sent out for graphics/markings and have radio's installed. The rig is a 2007 Ford E450/Lifeline. Specs include the lighting package is all LED, blue LED lights that flash on all open compartment doors, hydraulic oxygen tank lift, fog lights, and air horns mounted above cab.   5. The Mohegan Volunteer Firefighters are proud to announce an open house at our Headquarters at 1975 E. Main St (Rt. 6) near Lexington Ave. in Mohegan Lake. This event will be held on Sun. Oct. 14 from 11am to 4pm. Events scheduled for the day include tours of the firehouse plus fire engine and "Jaws of Life" demonstrations. There will also be ambulance tours and demonstrations by the MVFA-VAC. Our antique fire truck will be on display along with displays from our Fire-Police unit. Literature on fire prevention and injury prevention will also be available. Special treats for the kids will include appearances from Sparky the Fire Dog and Freddie the Fire Truck. Kids will also be able to spray water from a real fire hose. Refreshments will also be served.
  6. Mohegan Ladder10 and 35 have responded a few times in recent years to Continental Village to fires plus into the Mahopac Falls FD's Fish Bowl area and to Putnam Valley HS (PVFD), where there is automatic dual dispatch set up.
  7. 60 Control will take over full dispatch for LMFD when HQ is unmanned, which occurs usually due to numerous calls occurring

  9. On July 31, 2007, the Lake Mohegan Fire District retired Engine 250. The rig is a 1988 KME/LTI 1750gpm/500gal/55FT Telesquirt. The rig was formerly designated as T.S.3. The rig was the dept's workhorse apparatus for 19 years and acted as the dept's "ladder" for a few years from 1988 through 1996 when Ladder 10 was delivered. The rig is in the process of being stripped of it's equipment and will be up for sale shortly. At this time there is no apparatus being built to replace it.

Fire knocked down quickly and aggressively inside. (2) 1 3/4" handlines used off E-254. L-35 aerial raised and members cut larger hole where fire was showing through and found small pocket of hidden fire. Writer: CG206

  14. The former 69B1, a 2001 Ford E450/Wheeled Coach has been generiously donated to the Jefferson,NY FD Rescue Squad. The Jefferson FD only had to pay for the lettering, which for the most part stayed the same as it was marked for Mohegan. For those who don't know, the new 69B1 is a 2007 Ford E450/LifeLine.   17. June 27, 2007- MAYOR BLOOMBERG AND POLICE COMMISSIONER KELLY PRESIDE OVER GRADUATION CEREMONY FOR 1,097 NEW POLICE OFFICERS Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly today presided over a graduation ceremony for 1,097 new police officers at Madison Square Garden. The graduates recently completed approximately seven months of intensive training at the Police Academy in various field assignments. The new officers will be assigned to various commands throughout the City, including the Patrol Services Bureau, Housing Bureau, and Transit Division. "Just a few weeks ago, the FBI reported that violent crime went up in the rest of the nation during 2006, but here in New York violent crime decreased," said Mayor Bloomberg. "The NYPD has continued to drive violent crime and property crime down to historic lows this year - and year after year. Today we welcome 1,097 men and women into the ranks of our Police Department to continue the proud tradition of New York's Finest." "Today some of nation's finest young men and women shoulder the responsibility of protecting the public against conventional crime and terrorism in a city that their brother and sister officers have already made America's safest," said Police Commissioner Raymond W Kelly. This class is again one of the most diverse to have ever graduated from the academy. Approximately 27% of the graduates are Hispanic, 16% are black, 7% are Asian and 50% are white. Approximately 18% of the graduates are female. Today's class is made up of 252 graduates who have received four-year college degrees; 189 have completed associates degrees. Members of the class hail from a wide range of professions including 167 graduates who have served in the military. Mayor Bloomberg also presented the Mayor's Award to Police Officer Cheryl C. Walter for earning the highest overall average in the class. In addition, Police Officer Christopher T. Lopez received the Police Commissioner's Award for earning the second highest overall average. Police Officers John D. Boyce and Ian D. Luna received the First Deputy Commissioner's Award for earning the highest academic average. Police Officers Eric M. Florio and Cheryl C. Walter received the Chief of Department's Award for earning the highest physical fitness runoff average. Police Officer Brian V. Corso received the Deputy Commissioner of Training Award for earning the highest firearms proficiency average. Police Officer Steven Dutes received the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association Award as outstanding company sergeant. Police Officer Philip E. Schoppmann received the New York City Police Foundation Award for exceptional community service.

Date: 3/17/07 Time: 12:59 hrs Location: Jefferson Valley Bowl, 3699 Hill Blvd, Jefferson Valley (Yorktown) Frequency: 46.26 Units Operating: Mohegan L10, E258, U40, 69B2, 2261,2262,2264,2266,22610, YPD, Yorktown FM53, Yorktown Building Dept, Yorktown Code Enforcement Description Of Incident: Mohegan dispatched for partial ceiling collapse. Upon arrival, staff advised units that several ceiling tiles have fallen and there was loud cracking noises being heard from the roof area. Members made sure that all civilians were evacuated and upon exiting building, 1/2 of the roof caved in and the side wall collapsed outward. Members secured the perimeter and stoodby for the utilities to be shut off. All units picked up at approximately 1500 hrs. Writer: CG206
  21. The Mohegan FD annouces our annual Friendship night to be held on Fri. 1/12/07. It will be held at our Headquarters on Rt. 6 and Lexington Ave. in Mohegan Lake. Event starts at 7pm - ???. Free food and drinks. All are welcome to attend. Hope to see everyone there!
