  6. # 1 the stuff is light weight and provides better protection for the situation you are in, the land is by no means flat # 2 wearing structural gear will quickly lead to exhaustion. No matter how much you think your stuff is light weight it is not. Remember the saying, use the right tools for the job? It applies here.

  16. I have to agree with you 1000% A couple of years ago my family's brand new boat (42' Carver) went thru it's first winter untreated (even though people were paid to close it up for the winter) and spring time rolled around we got 50 feet away from shore and one of the engines died. A large amount of water collected in the one tank, condensation from the ethanol (tank was filled to 3/4) thousands of dollars later the problem was fixed (after they took the whole fuel system apart) Now the boat runs great! To bad it's gonna cost over $1,000 to fill the gas tanks this year
  17. As we enter this Recession / Depression mode of the economy, foreclosures adding up, people loosing their homes are we getting to the point where there will be a rise in arson fires again? Lets watch out for it and stay safe.
  18. Several years ago the city of Poughkeepsie went to a structure fire in the middle of winter. They arrived and tried to hit a hydrant that was covered with snow but it was frozen, they hit the next, frozen, I think they got one working but very little water. They ended up using a tanker shuttle, something way out of the norm for the city. In the end, 2 houses were destroyed and several people were injured. I can't recall if this was a fatal but I'm sure our P-town guys could give a better deception
