Wasn't it East Fishkill's Snorkel that got stuck in the front yard of the big Holiday Inn fire 1987? 8? That was my first major fire I worked at. I also got struck in the head by a pike pole by someone from East Fishkill (Yes that must have been when I lost my brains...) But fortunately I had full PPE on and it bounced off my helmet. Hey FDPhotounit got any photo's of that job?

Thanks for the complimants. I don't know what year Jetta but it didn't hold up very well. The SP did not do accident reconstruction. no skid marks were visible. The guy got his own legs out somehow.

Give the new system a chance before you start complaining about it. You think this cost is a lot, look at this farce of a project NYS is trying to install NYSWN. This has been worked on for years with no success. They say that NY won't pay a dime until the radio company proves it works, then they will get billions. I hardly believe the radio co. is doing BILLIONS in radio work for a payment they may not get if they fail.

Doc, sounds like you need a shot of Yager! Some towers are now simulcasting. That is why the tones sound a little strange. In fact an anouncement just went out for Amenia and it was loud and clear in Chelsea, it was never so clear!

Many of you are right, actually all of you are right but you just don't place your knowledge correctly. whether it be BVAC, Alamo, NDP, MLSS, Hudson Valley, East Fishkill, Beekman or the wizard of oz, NO ONE is perfect! We all miss calls. The only way to prove the missed averages correctly is to go and actually look over EVERYONE's stats. Look we are all doing this to save lives, stop complaining about the bad and offer suggestions for improvement...slowdown the answer is not going to a fully paid county EMS plan and even if it was it would be at least 10 years or more before you got everyones cooperation and enough funding to put it in place. Changes would have to take place in a planned & orginized way not by blabbering over the internet. So you former Dutchess County EMS workers that like to complain about the system up here get accurate facts before ASSUMING this that and the other thing because you only recognizee what you want and not the truth. Jim FYI in Chelsea, we are covered by 3 EMS agencies, BVAC, TOW & Alamo, they does cover a small section all by themselves.
