The address was 10 Heath Rd this is neaer the Rt 52 & I 84 area. FD was orig dispatched to a fire alarm at a gas station near by so the response was rather quick. 1 resident was transported to the hospital.

Dutchess Junction car 2 was at Glenham watching the race when someone ran over banging on the window and they looked out and said they had work. Overall a great stop for Glenham (They have the best response time for any volunteer FD in Dutchess) and being across the street from the fire helps. They did have one very well done pizza pie sitting in the flower pot out front.

Just remember the law of averages. The bigger question is how many are suspicious and or in a home that is in foreclosure. That is what we have to be aware of.

I'm sorry, but that is one group that I wouldn't mine if tragedy struck them!

Sad to hear, everything I heard about them was always positive. God give them strength to deal with this tragedy. On another note, having a friend die from a bleed after a very minor accident several years ago I always tell patients that have a head trauma that death is a possibility.

Besides the topic of collapse teams, lets not also forget about High / Low angle rescue teams or trench rescue teams. For basic collapse keep in mind that you should have a substantial amount of lumber available including plywood. It might be a good idea to get the manager of your local lumber yard and set up a plan that if you needed supply's at any time that they could supply it (and of course they will bill you). The Orange / Sullivan collapse rescue group performed a trench rescue last summer in Kiryas Joel. Firehouse magazine had a photo story on it I believe in January of this year about it.
