  3. The "Ice Cream Truck" is from Quality towing out of Vails Gate As far as traffic, PD got it started so the FD had noting to do with it. You know it's already a busy intersection so you can't have continious flowing traffic backing up Rt 9d. You have to look at it this way, you could have been sitting in traffic NOT MOVING AT ALL. This happened to work out well for traffic.

Date:9/19/09 Time: 07:24 Location: I-84 Westbound MM 41.5 at the exit 11 (Rt 9D) overpass Frequency: 45.900, 453.925, 453.800, 453.050 Units Operating: Chelsea 35-1, 35-12, 35-52, Beacon Volunteer Ambulance & Transcare Medic Weather Conditions: Clear, Sunny, 56 Description Of Incident: Car strikes pu up truck rolls over and hits a tractor trailer causeing a fuel leak Writer: JETPHOTO 07:24 Chelsea, BVAC & Transcare dispatched to a overturned auto 07:25 BVAC & Transcare Medic responded 07:29 CC17 on the scene with a overturned auto vs a tractor trailer 07:30 Chelsea 35-52 responded (Sorry don't have other times) Units arrived to find a car sped past slowing traffic struck a small pick up and then went into the barrier before rolling over a couple time striking a tractor trailer causing a a large fuel leak from the drivers side saddle tank. EMS transported 1 minor injury and RMA'd the two other divers. Apx. 75 gallanos of fuel was leaked. Driver was hauling green peppers Fuel leak was contained by the FD. Mann's auto body towed the two cars and Quality arrived with a heavy duty tow truck and thier spill response truck and handled the clean up.   9. Any topic involving safety is important on this site. NYS Blue lights have been a topic on here in the past and nys law now states POLICE VEHICLES may operate a rear facing blue light not fire or ems. Many parades now have rules that say if you have a blue light on \your fire apparatus you are immediately disqualified

EMS arrived and confirmed entrapment. Command requested 1 BLS ambulance to the scene, 911 sent LaGrange mutual aid. LaGrange 47-72 & 47-87 responded 08:1 8:08 Beekman 34-79 enroute to St Francis ALS with 1 8:18 Lagrange transported 1 BLS to St Francis Equipment cleared scene at 0836
  12. About time now if they would come up with a better radio plan and be on one band & not be spread over low band, VHF, UHF, 800 Trunk they might come a little further.

  16. A person jumped to thier death jumping between the spans. The body was recovered within a 1/2 hour of the jump Beacon FD marine unit was initialy called but declined to go on the river because it's not equiped for night time incidents.

  20. I happen to try takeing shots of lighning tonight and did manage to get 1 half way decent shot. I had to adjust the brightness to be able to see a few bolts dancing around.
  21. Nice job as always Bill Yes it's a state road but I do think they do get some federal money for it. My opinion is all operations on any road (except as the law states) should have a vest on. It's safety equipment, if you have use it. It won't hurt you.
