2010 Ford Explorer sold by Winner Ford, Cherry Hill NJ To be used as an ALS Flycar Graphics by Kaos Design , New Rochelle NY 2010 Polaris Ranger 6x6 sold by Teixeira's Polaris, Hyde Park, NY with a Kimtek Rescue Sled (Will go in service Spring 2010)
-
Starting 06:00 Monday January 25, Beacon Volunteer Ambulance will become an ALS service. BVAC is in our Fifty First year serving residents in the City of Beacon and the Town of Fishkill (in the Chelsea, Glenham and Dutchess Junction fire districts). BVAC is a combination volunteer and paid service.
-
BVAC does do fund raising but in today's world that will just not pay all the bills, several years ago we started billing. We use Certified Ambulance Group
-
We have 1 medic on 24/7. We may have times were we will have a 2nd medic available but normally just 1. If ALS is needed for 2nd calls Transcare will be called. mutual aid is limited because we only have 1 medic. The name will remain the same.

A long time ago, the village used to be dispatched by the state police this is why they have had a 7K designation for years

Every additional call handled by FDNY and not the volunteers increases call volume and gives more justification of larger budgets

Rest in Peace and strength for her family and friends

The old tool of pen and paper still exist, jot down vitals and other important info inside the house and enter it during transport. The computer is great unless you are an expert and fast if not one write it down...When a PO arrives on the scene of a call, he takes notes and enters the info later on a computer not during a street interview. Obviously in EMS the info has to be published faster but not at the risk of proper EMS care. In Dutchess, Beacon Vol. Amb. is in the process of of switching over and has been entering all info into EPCR after each call (until we get laptops) and billing turnaround is definitely improved.

I have seen private fire apparatus in parades before. I think the best answer you will get is if you contact the parade committee for the parade you are interested in.

Hughsonville's dive team responds to several calls a year. They have successfully retrieved a drowning victim in 40 foot of water in about 10 minutes., unfortunately the person did not make it. They have also been used to help tow trucks in recovering vehicles under water, and to search for possible victims. They also can serve as back ups to the PD dive teams. They have a few of small boats that are available, 45-99 ia a 26' SVI Rescue Boat with a Vortec 8.1L V8 inboard engine a 45-98 is a 15.6' Achilles Inflatable Boat with 40hp Engine and a 45-97 is a 14' Achilles Inflatable Boat Photos are available at Hughsonville Fire District Web Site

FIOS! The only thing I don't like being in Dutchess is I get weather for NYC & commercials for stuff on Long Island thats the only part that sucks Internet is great, no problems since I got it in July....Cablevision internet dropped out everyday several times a day and I would have to reset the modem TV signal is awsome...Cablevision channels would start to scramble due to the poor signal One other thing that kinda sucks is you need a box for each TV but it brings all channels to each TV so all is not that bad
