I think if you had the unfortunate experience of falling on your back with the new air pack compared to a current cylinder you would want the new one. Keep the firefighters, but there is also the lease option.

I liked it

Speaking of pursuits... one just ended in Chester (Orange Cnty) with the vehicle rolling over and ejecting one person and pinning another. bad price to pay for being chased
-
I monitored a pursuit last night that I believe PCSO was involved with and the perp struck the officers vehicle then fled into Danbury where the perp was lost and may have struck vehicles there. It sounded like a failure to comply. So why was he fleeing? Scared? Stolen Vehicle? No License? on drugs / alcohol? stole something? assaulted / shot/ killed someone? or just mentally ill? You don't know.

On March 8, 1998 a group of firefighters from Dutchess County returning from the county weekend at the fire academy in Montour Falls came upon this fatal accident on Rt 17 about 2 miles south of the town of Hancock in Delaware County. I was in one of the first cars to stop followed by everyone else that were on a bus. At the time I was one of only a few people that had a cell phone and had to run down the street to get a signal to dial 911...I would love to know what SP dispatcher I got back then! The one car had crossed over the median head on into the other car killing the one driver and entraping the front passenger. Firefighters did not have much to work with but used a tire iron to do the best we could until the local fire department arrived. All photo's property of JETPHOTO

Much like other modern day newspapers offering on line service and allow people to leave comments some MORON decided that Capt. Vince Iaccino death was an appropriate time and place for a paid vs. volunteer war in the story about his death in the Poughkeepsie Journal. Who knows if that person is a member on this site, regardless this person needs to GROW UP! This post is not an invitation to start that war because no one wants to hear about it it's your own opinion. My gripe is the lack of respect for someone who spent the last 22 years giving back to the community as a firefighter. Story look under the 3rd group of comments Rest in peace Captain / President Jim

RIP Captain Iaccino
