Two-driver fire truck soon to be history in Middletown

That really came out nice. Amazing what a couple months does in the factory when I saw it in person. Best of luck with it.

Today a 20 year old male was arrested in connection with a suspicious fire this morning on Widmer Rd in the town of Wappingers. Detectives have learned he is responsible for a fire a few weeks earlier in a occupied home in East Fishkill. The residents were home sleeping at the time. This person is reported to be a former firefighter. WHAT THE H*** IS WRONG WITH SOME PEOPLE???? You become a firefighter to help people and then you go burn houses down? OCCUPIED HOUSES???? My opinion is for you to rot in your cell! Maybe if your lucky a psychiatrist can fix your crooked mind.

Tonight I actually did "experiment" with 2 cans of Four Loko, 1 grape and 1 friut punch. I can absolutely see how dangerous this crap is. If you can get over the taste after a couple cans your are pretty buzzed. I'm surprised I can still type...I see why they are pushing to ban this stuff. BUT you can ban this and something else will come along. I strongly believe the focus should be on enforcement of the laws and preventing the sales from minors. If your 21 and still want to act like a jerk after drinking the stuff then you are just immature and don't know when to say STOP! Enough with my drunken rant, party on!

Many things at DC 911 will be changing in 2011 beginning with Coordinator Murphy's retirement December 17th 2010. So the department will have a new coordinator, faced with loosing the team and other parts of the department. It sucks no matter what way you look at it. Some county employees are going to loose jobs very soon, many departments merged together (some of which make ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE!) Cuts Cuts Cuts all to keep the taxes down. So when it comes to saving money in the ER budget where do you start? Dispatchers? No to valuable to public safety Dispatching equipment? Can't use one with out the other CIRT? Has proven itself valuable during firefighter deaths & other tragic events Haz-Mat? Most firefighters have no training for major emergencies clean up companies are a distance away Office Personal? already operating understaffed Fire instructors / training? With out the proper training the risk of firefighter injury or death may occur Fire Investigation - Heavily used group, proven to convict arsonist but Chief has basic responsibility, If the Chief feels it's suspicious turn it over to the PD, If its a major incident OFPC will most likely be involved Most fires are also investigated by the property owners insurance company NO I do NOT want to loose this group or any group

If they have about 24 even with the hopes of 40 volunteer personel then I don't think they need a 1.8 million dollar budget. What are they spending it on? Sounds like a audit needs to be done on the city books

I have known Daryl for 20 years, this guy would give you the shirt off his back or a roof over your head (as he does right now to a fellow member on this board). He is a very smart person that goes after any training he can get. He is out for justice for him and others so everyone has the same opportunities. I don't have to wish him luck because he is not the type of person to make this stuff up. Jim
