  9. I found a news video on the fire, It's to bad they got the location wrong. LoL
  10. Those elections are not secret, they are posted legal notices in your local papers as required by law that was set by the state, no different then school district elections who are required to post the same. The only difference is very few people care about fire district elections or fire district other voting. So don't claim it's secret it's ignorance on the part of the resident! You want it changed then go see your state representatives! It's just like taxpayers complained and now they can voice concerns over district budgets, IF they bother to read the notices and actually get out and say something at the meetings.
  11. I was listening to the city of Newburgh fire last night and found it interesting that Orange County Car 36-13 placed the fire under control but 30 - 45 minutes later the Newburgh IC placed the fire under control with his dispatcher. Maybe some OC guys can answer why a county car can declare an incident under control before the home departments IC?
  12. BVAC will usually get called if Philipstown then Garrison then depending on location dept x has no units availible. BVAC has and will respond to locations off Rt 9 or 9D. And you do get what you pay for regardles what company you deal with. You pay cheap you get cheap!
  13. Speak about the timing of some articles, in the November Fire/Rescue magazine is an article about funerals and discusses "an important question when honoring firefighters who have died" Line of Duty … or Not Line of Duty?

  16. Yes it has been around for years and I think was mentioned in a movie or two (maybe American Pie). Listen kids, Alcohol goes in your mouth ONLY not your eyes, nose, butt or vagina's. Kids always after the next new high, and it's been happening forever. nothing new.
  17. I totally agree especially when they are stationed to be on foot directing traffic and they wear dark uniforms and it's raining out making it even more difficult to see them.

  22. It's a water meter, the FD must swipe their card so the water department can bill the fire department LoL I also like how they make the hydrant area and the trees next to so nice so when you flush the hydrant you blow all the soil away The people who put the meter their must have worked for an insurance company in the past "betting" it will never be used
  23. Weather chaser from the midwest
  24. It would allow the big groups that have runs, walks, ect to use a bridge without messing up traffic. But....RIP IT DOWN! It will allow taller ships to deliver to more locations north of Westchester, be safer, cheaper (not having to maintain it) Add a wide enough walkway to the new bridge. Just my opinion
