This development in the world of EMS and ambulances is unacceptable. The obese are taking their own lives in their hand when they chose to be obese. Obesity is a chose and lifestyle. We should not have to accomadate by you do. Therefore, an XL bus should only be used in very large urban areas with high rates of obesity, not just anywhere. This is becaue it costs so much, it takes a lot of man power and the chance that the bus will be used frequently are very unlikely. That is the end of my little rant.

If that happened around here I dont kind the kid would get out because it would be too funny

you can get a mask that has the cut so that you can see normally out of them eveb though you might be blind as a bat but it does not matter because the only time that it is essentail to wear a mask is in a fire for search and rescue but in side a burning building you will not be able to see anything at all think like the mask condfidence course at the FTC

Pike pole over six feet hoook if under 6 six feet (like a roof hool)

66Alpha1 i think you have it out for me lol Yes he made the worst mistake of his life but being a rookie made this a whole lot easier to happen and im sure we all made mistakes when we were rookies but the only problem is that this mistake went too far
-
Your right he got what he deserved but this was designed to be a harmless prank. I think that he thought that the shock would not hurt her. He was new to EMS therefore had most likely never used an AED and was not aware of the effect that it has on the body specificly the heart. When were all first trained, we thought or at least I did that the AED was not that big of a deal but after seeing its effects did I realize its true power.
-
This is one case were justice is served but at too high of a price. He should not of shocked the women but it was a prank. I guess we can only judge the action and the consequences not the ideas.

What is good, bad and the ugly of having pre-conected extracation tools inside the front bumper of the departments resuce. Also, If not extracation tools should anything be inside the front bumper.
-
Nice looking rig but what on earth is the point. A tillered rescue??? All they need is two medium Resuces to fulfill its role and these rescues would be cheaper to maintain, easier to operate, easier to get around the city and more practical.

Other than a money crisis and the devolpment of better apparatus, could this rig be re-built or re-instated to the FDNY?

While he may have been in jail I must admire his courage, bravery and conviction. It is a shame that we lost a man that depite being in jail still helped and died for his community.

My only question now is how did that cat get on the roof, what did it want on the roof and who is that getting the cat.
-
That was pretty cool video. They put out another good video. I wish there was a movie of them using the TL in a real fire with the whole thing extended.

I know that Volvo makes long distance haulers but does Volvo make a rig that can be used by a department in our area and if so does anyone run a Volvo rig. Thanks
-
Those are all amazing rigs but I dont see the functablity of most of the rigs.

I agree that it is a little sketchy that a convicted felon is fighting fires outside of the prison. However, it is possible that a policy can be instituted for people convicted of non-violent crimes or are not a danger to the community or himself. If there was a fire department on the prison walls then any inmate with a resonable prison record or convicted of non-violent crimes could be responsible for a rig and fight the fires on the prison grounds.
-
Absolutly not. Get a ladder near the cat, grap it and get it down. Who ever is doing that or is ordering him to do that should seriously look at what they are doing, or at least OSHA should be. We dont need another LODD or some cat.
-
I dont know about Westchester but I know that all rigs should have a haz-mat field guide on them and that katonah has a decon trailer behind there fire house.
-
That really cool. Is that how men are supposed to be on the truck, I thought that there should be more. I thought that it also took them a long time to get to that fire.

With ideas like that you should run for an office or something. In Mt. Kisco, the closed several good diners and delis for a bank and other things that the residents dont need at all. It as so has to do with the owners of the property, they are just too concerned about making money and it is just not fair.

My department issued all of its EMS personal a jacket and pants designed to be used on calls and is really tough and durable. I was wondering what first aid gear should go in to my pockets. I would like to keep the stuff in any of my pockets as light and as easy to find as possible. Thanks

Now that is pretty cool
