I just saw this commercial. I was laughing after I saw it. I wish any meeting I have ever been to was that short and sweet. Its funny how they type casted all of us firefighters.
-
Was this the new ladder 31's first run or is the old ladder 31 still in service?
-
What was the final alarm level of this fire? Also, why were so many departments from so far called for this fire and not other closer ones?
-
Its possible that the blue tint is from glare/flash/shadow.

I have a hybrid SUV, while not a Ford/Chevy/GMC it is a Toyota Highlander. It is one of the best cars my family has ever owned, while the gas milage still leaves alot of room for improvement (only 22 MPG city) it has more than enough power. My hybrid has 200 Kilowatts of power, thats more than enough. In terms of all of the bells and wistles that staff cars have, I believe that a hybrid could have and use them for extended periods of time due to the amount of electricity in the car. Remember all of those battery blocks that we are afriad of in hybrids, well they provide more than enough power to the car. Most people who drive my car or cars like it say it has too much power. On the other end, the Prius has too little power.

Does any one know what happened to those black DEP HAZMAT Pierce Lances I saw on EMTBravo a while ago. Also, does any one have any pictures of the DEP HAZMAT teams rigs. I have seen the one stationed in Katonah many times and I was curious to see who had pictures or discriptions of anything else.

Going back to using an excavator, I have heard of an excavator used to dig the burning contents of a dumpster fire out of the dumpster. I have also heard of an excavator being used to dig out the hot spots of a burned down house to put the wet stuff on the red/hot stuff

One would have to assume so.....any time I see a Stat Flight landing I see an engine at the scene with a handline stretched but not charged and the members in full PPE and SCBAs. This is incase anything goes wrong or the LZ needs to wetdown to prevent any dust or other objects from flying all over the place. I also believe that it is Stat Flights SOP that this is practiced at all LZs.

From the Ruddy Creek Impovement District website: Link: http://www.rcid.org/Dept_Emergency.cfm "The section’s response personnel are certified by the State of Florida as Firefighters, Emergency Medical Technicians and Fire Safety Inspectors, with Advanced Life Support personnel certified as Paramedics. These personnel are assigned to a 24-hour rotating shift, staffing four fire stations strategically located throughout the District to minimize response times to any location. Under the direction of command level officers, each shift is responsible for staffing four engines, a tower truck, two 4 x 4 brush trucks, a specialized squad truck, a tanker and seven Advanced Life Support ambulances. In addition, the department has a special 6 x 6 aerial ladder designed to service the monorail beam in off-road areas" It makes it sound like all of there rigs are in service in at a given time, If that is the case that could be the reason for the low property loses there.

Pierce trucks are not the only manufacturer to do this. There is a Spartan/Aerialscope in Roosevelt, New York with these kinds of mirrors on their truck. LINK: http://www.fdnytrucks.com/files/html/other...u/Roosevelt.htm

This is awsome......it just goes to show that not everything is as it seems.

Everyone loves to hate and hats to love the Northwestern, they are just too good, too cocky and have too much money........however, that does not stop me from rooting for them everytime.

That was awsome......no doubts about it

According to the Westchester County Fire Apparatus Plate Assignments, Greenvile is assigned Ladder 4 for the current Ladder 4 but Tower Ladder 4 is listed as reserved, thats it.

Could this be the finished rig that was brought up in this thread: http://www.emtbravo.net/index.php?showtopic=23074

Its a good show that can allow one to follow the paths of these companies and their crew while learning about one of the last jobs that are still like they were, some 200 years ago, only minus the gas engines and the cameras.

Is this apparatus designed to be a more economic alternative to a TDA from Seagrave or Peirce?
-
As this engine is going to replace two rigs, an engine and a rescue, does it have extrication tools pre-connected or will the extrication tools be used with a portable generator?
-
What is the gator used for? I see some hose on it but is it used as pack mule or all terrain wildland fire fighting?

Found outside of the Mount Kisco Fire Department Green Street Fire House. Its a 2007-8 Chevy Tahoe. Looks like it is going to be the new 2281. Sorry about the poor quality of the photos, I took them with my cell phone real quick.
