In the first picture you posted today Seth, what unit is the white Ford truck? It looks like a YPD ESU pickup but I can not tell.

What an idea that must be....those who are the best at a given job doing it, regardless or race, color, creed, sex or whatever. Black and white, those who score higher get the job because they can do it better than the other person. Its amazing, we elect a black president yet can not agree in who we are going hire to do a job because of the color of their skin, it kills me.

Finally some one has the stones to say something. I may not live in Dutchess but there is no reason not to dispatch closest located apparatus, not favorites. Public safety comes first, end of story, anyone who thinks otherwise picked the wrong hobby/line of work.

The GOP in this country was humiliated last night, and for good reason, they drove this country right into the ground. For those who wanted McCain, sucks for you, turns out you do not know what America needs because you are out of touch and do not know what America wants. Stepjam is right, if McCain won....every single college student at every single school in every single state that voted for Obama would have rioted. I know because most of the people I talked to at my school and others across this country said they would riot if McCain won. However, when you enjoying being as far left as they are in Burlington, Vermont, we organized and paraded and cheered and thank god after Obama's win. Let me also say that I do not think that Obama will be that god at his job, he is just going to be 10 times better at the job than McCain ever could. Biden would be a far better president the Obama even.

Thank the lord.... I voted for Big Black Barack and Joe " The Bulldog" Biden and am damn proud of it. McCain would only have made me pay more than Barack would have for everyones social security and unemployment after McCain would have driven the economy straight into the ground and started digging some sort of hole to china as some sort of repayment for all of the trillions of dollars they have loaned us under George Bush. He said that he has no background, knowledge or competence in economics and would rely on his VP for economic policy advise. Do you really think Palin would have done that? She turned out to be a terrible choice and everyone knows it now.

That is another good point....I see more cops talking on cell phones while driving than I do cops checking for speeding.

Outlaw it completely....it is overly dangerous and I can not tell you the number of my friends that got into accidents ranging from nicks to Stat flight calls due to texting and driving....I believe it is even more dangerous than talking and driving.

And how people get caught speeding........these unmarked chargers are everywhere. Once you see you know where to look for the lights and you look there everytime, I can see an unmarked from a mile a way just based on whether it is a Crown Vic, Tahoe, Charger or Impala, its tints and by looking on the dash or the grill. If you really want to make a good unmarked traffic/speeding unit, get a nice, new BMW, no upgrades or anything, put one red light, a siren and radar in it and send it down the street to get people....it will cost the same as a charger with police package and custom set up but be a lot less obvious. No one would think a BMW is a cop car but when they see a charger with those door spot lights and a push bumper they can tell it is a cop.

Are those spray paint cans in the last picture? Where there very many of them. I am curious to see if an obstacles existed in putting out this fire.

I am actually surprised they do not carry them already. I can not think of very many if any police forces in Westchester or up here in Vermont that do not equip each officer with a taser. Doesn't it make sense for an officer to have every tool in his arsenal ready to defend himself, especially if it is non-lethal. There are also cases of officers using tasers to subdue and stop animal attacks. I remember a video of a LAPD officer shooting a taser at a dog at subduing a dog that was about to attack the officer.
