Arn't there certain lights out there that can only be installed on certain types of vehicles. For example I know of a few lights and service items that only fit Crown Vics or Tahoes.

Was the WPFD ladder sent to the scene or was it in PMFD quarters because im not trying to nit pick or monday morning quarter back but it seems that if it was going to the scene then Ladder 34 with the 20 something minute ETA as per mapquest from their fire house is more than twice the time it would take either FDNY ladder 51 or 61 to get to the scene. Im just asking questions because I remember hearing something about FDNY not liking to respond to something either out of the city of NY or go on stand by or something like that.

Maybe they want some sort of update for chief numbers/positions. Today marks the first day of new chiefs and officers in those departments if I am not mistaken.

New PRFD Engine 111 has been delivered. I saw it last night in PRFDs HQ next to Engine 113

So the pump on the tower is just to help move water further, faster?

Does this truck carry any water?

Since we are doing Dutchess, why cant we do the top ten incidents over all and then the top ten for each county or however you want to divide it. Like we used to do.

You can see their tower in the back of the picture on the top, the first one.

Is Bedford Hills getting a new car to replace 2033? I saw what looks like another Chevy Suburban sitting in the bay where the rescue usually goes and rescue parked outside next to the current 2033.

While it should not ever happen, if a fire fighter gets separated from the team the entered with and become disoriented or lost, or god forbid injured, the ability to communicate with that firefighter and communicate within the incident should be reason enough to provide every firefighter witha working protable radio. That being said, just because you have been given a radio does not mean that you should be talking on it. Radio communication should and usually is confined to officers communicating with teams or teams communicating with other teams. The team leaders and the officers should be the only ones talking unless an urgent or an emergency needs to be transmitted. However, just because you are not talking on the radio does not mean that you should be ignoring it. Try listening to everything said over the radio, that way to can expect certain things and even anticipate and prepare for situations or orders. I also do not think that I have ever used a radio to communicate with anyone while on scene, but I think I have listened and learned from each transmission. Just my .02 cents

Happy Holidays Unfortunately it has been a terrible holiday season for some of people that I have had to respond on calls for. Lets wish everyone on call tonight a happy holidays and to be safe but lets also wish those who have to call us a very truly happy holidays because god knows they need it more than I do. I could never image ever in a million years what it must be like to ruin this season ,whether you like it or not, with the terrible, terrible mis-fourtune of having to need our services to night, also upcoming and in the past. I hope I dont get a single call not night, not for my sake, but for whoever might be calling me. Its Christmas Eve and we are back on our way to the ER, The lady in back asking me if she will be ok, Asking me if she will be able to see her children perform in a Christmas concert, Hoping someone will record it for her, Gripping my hand, holding tight, not letting go, thinking it will all end tonight. Every second passes and I grow weaker, Not my body, but my soul Why must there be such suffering, such pain tonight, Why can not we get the night off. Not for me, not for my family, For the person I am seeing in the stretcher, For their family, their loved ones, Their pain hurts me more than they know. Now I have to ask no pray, Please god can there be one day, One holiday, where no gets sick, Where no one dies. That way I can rest, Knowing that surrow is not a feeling to be felt, Knowing that I do not need to see another human suffer, Only then will I enjoy my holidays.

Thats one way to avoid detection, stomp on the air horn, they will never hear it. Sounds like the air horn is now good for both moving traffic and as a auto security device.

If you are looking for the best pizza on the planet, bar none, at the intersection when FDNY Squad 18 and the FDNY TL12 crash a few weeks ago there is this amazing place, no idea the name but it is literally right there. There slices are to die for, and they cost what they should $2 for plain and $3 for toppings.
-
Looks just like 113

As a lover of a pizza, and having tried a slice in 43 of 50 states I can say that without a doubt anyone that refers to New York in any way shape or means about the pizza is 100% full of poop and wrong. They only add NY in there to make it sell better. If you want real pizza and thats not even talking good pizza, you can not go anywhere outside of the NYC watershed. I have never had pizza in New HAven but I am told that it is one of the few places that make it good and make it right. What is so good about NY pizza as proven somewhere, I wish I knew where, was the fact that the drinking water and the water they sue to cook with contains a special, unique blend of minerals that makes the crust for firm but thin and flakey.

The peculiar evil of silencing the expression of an opinion is, that it is robbing the human race; posterity as well as the existing generation; those who dissent from the opinion, still more than those who hold it. If the opinion is right, they are deprived of the opportunity of exchanging error for truth: if wrong, they lose, what is almost as great a benefit, the clearer perception and livelier impression of truth, produced by its collision with error. ~John Stuart Mill, On Liberty, 1859

If you watch the video here: http://www.news12.com/WC/topstories/article?id=222718 and wait until the end...I think you can see a scarsdale ambulance and guessing by the LED lights I saw on it, could it be the new one?

Since the "Mack" fire apparatus was before my time....I wonder if some has or can put together a list of all of the Mack fire apparatus from the start of their production to today that served any amount of time in Westchester?
