http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,479935,00.html Sage has a point in that she had/has some socialist views but who cares, unless someone you know is more qualified to for the position by all means let Mr. Obama know but this woman regardless of her political views knows what to do regarding the environment and knows how to do it. She will cause more good for the environment in 1 year than any Bush did in 12, and you can count on that. Why does it matter what label themselves, as long as she is American, her policies will better America and the global environment considering the CO2 producing machine and gas chugging nation America has become. You knows, maybe she will even be able to save the environment for our children.

Where then...who else is responsible for emergencies and disasters other than FEMA? I thought it was obvious who was supposed to handle this just based on the name, Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Wow, ok here is my understanding based on the episodes that I have watched with my father but here it goes. What Chris192 and Bnechis are talking about one of the first serial tv shows to aired. The show was called F Troop and is about an American Military Outpost in the West some times after the Civil War. It is supposed to be a comedy and it is quite funny. It features many famous lines, most obvious is "we're the Hekawis." That s it in a nut shell. I have left a lot out. Here is a link to the wikipedia article about the show: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F_Troop Its pretty good if you get a chance to watch it.

One more thing to add....DC cannot turn to some state agency like the NYPD can if need be. Since DC is a district, hence the D in DC or District of Columbia, it can not receive funding from a state to provide financial assistance, thus it is required to turn to the federal government for relief money. And for those of you Bush fans, 15 million is a lot less to pay for this than the 105 billion required to handle Bushes mess after the 2005 hurricane season.

I seeking ideas on what other peoples policies or ideas regarding later developing, work related injuries were.....I have no specifics but when I have a chance, I will delineate the SOP/SOGs of my respective agency.

Obama's inauguration is going to be one of the largest events in the history of American politics. D.C. is expecting three times the number of people ever according to one source I read. They are going to need this money to keep the President-Elect, the public and any dignitaries safe, I find that taking it from FEMA however might not be the best idea if a disaster does strike but I actually agree with Bush with his belief of needing extra high and good security for this high profile event. I only wish I was there to watch history.

Here is another question, say you throw out or hurt your back while conducting operations but your back does not start hurting or bothering you until after operation have concluded and everyone has gone home, what do you do then?
-
What do you do when you go the chief saying I got a cut or something and they say it does not warrant documentation?

Goose, I do not see any animosity towards to troopers...I think we are seeing animosity towards the troopers attitude towards closing the road. I think that anyone who has posted on here has nothing but the highest respect and admiration for someone whose job could be defined by some as laying their life down in the line of fire to protect the innocent and the weak. What causes the problems is the attitude of those involved, not the trooper specifically. But then again what the hell do I know, I have never heard or seen of amy problems before coming here.

I thought that some agencies were placing coolers in their rigs for cold saline, could you also place ALS meds in a cooler like that to protect against the temperatures?
-
Yes, but I thought that assault rifles were usually semi-automatic, automatic or fired several shots (Not fully automatic) with one squeeze of the trigger.
-
Heres a good question, How in gods name did this lunatic get his hands on a chinese made assault rifle?
-
In the point where the winch (I believe) would be hitched to? What you see are the logo of the builder of this rescue (Rescue 1), on the trailer hitch covers.

You can actually get commercially available FLIR (Forward Looking Infrared) technology/systems for prices as low as $6,000 refurbished. http://www.telogyllc.com/display_model.aspx?bm=FLU(TI20)

It looked like the people wearing the vests were with the ambulance that arrived on scene later as you can see in the video.

Nice looking rig. I like the yellow lightbars on either side of the rear of the truck. I think that will make this truck very visible.
-
One would think that someone would go out and rescue them for no other reason than to get the cash that the pirates had from the ransom.
-
Wow....wild footage Thank god no one got hurt
-
Look at the picture, unless you were looking for the jacks you would never see them.... The only reason I knew that it was the truck is because someone else on here was talking about the TLs holiday lights.

Rest In Peace Another One Taken Too Soon
-
Very cool...are these rigs functional as well or just for show?

Lets Go Mets.....been a Mets fan since before they were created as an expansion team. My family was Giants fans, then Dodgers fans then Mets fans. I have been a Mets fan since the day I was before, some say even before the creation of the Mets. I cant wait to see a game at the new field. I liked Shea, it was old and dirty but its the only Home of the Mets I have ever known, or really anyone else for that matter. Now all I need is a seat from the Mezz section.....

There's mines over there, there's mines over there, and watch out those goddamn monkeys bite, I'll tell ya. Phillips: My orders say I'm not supposed to know where I'm taking this boat, so I don't. But one look at you, and I know it's gonna be hot. Willard: I'm going 75 clicks above the Do Lung bridge. Phillips: That's Cambodia captain. Willard: That's classified. The heads. You're looking at the heads. Sometimes he goes too far. He's the first one to admit it. Hey soldier, do you know whose in command here? Ain't you?
