NEVER FORGET
-
Sent them a message about that an hour and a half ago. And agreed, condolences to the families and friends of these two men. Rest In Peace.

Based on what has been described here Tarrytown has a Haz-Mat job with Tech Rescue component. What if this is two people down in a sewer due to Hydrogen Sulfide (sewer gas), then you are going to need a Tech Rescue team to reach the scene and then a Haz-Mat team to Decon, now add victims and there is your STAT flight, with your engine too. It all makes sense. Is it WCTRT and WCHMT operating? Is there any more info?

http://www.ct.gov/dmv/cwp/view.asp?a=805&q=244788 http://www.cga.ct.gov/2006/rpt/2006-R-0141.htm Q endorsement is the title given to the certification in CT that an individual has obtained and passed the necessary training, experience and certification to drive an emergency vehicle. It is like an emergency vehicle CDL in CT as far as I can tell.

Rest In Peace

exactly what I was trying to say...thank you.

Yes he did complete all 4 years and no you did not question his ability. All I was saying is that is unfair to specifically drag Jason through the mud because of his age. This is a problem across the board in volunteer fire departments in westchester and across the country and it does not do any good specifically singling out this one individual.
-
please please please...lets not drag a fully dedicated, committed and enthusiastic young man into this mess. Its shooting the messenger gentleman. BTW, a friend of mine, a recent West Point Graduate is leading Combat Unit in Afghanistan, he is younger than half the men in his unit. If he can do it, Jason can too if given a chance.

The ambulances, while being stored at that yard are property of an agent of Mutual Aid Americas and not Mutual Aid Americas itself.

Congrats in deed....her actions are what it is all about, pure and simple.

Your F***ing kidding right. It is well documented that bedbugs are resistant to DDT, and have been that way in America since the 40's. Before they even banned the stuff in the 70's. Some species of bedbugs are 100% immune to the effect of DDT. The reason why DDT and other pesticides are not working on current bedbugs is because the rate of reproduction of insects has allowed the bedbugs to evolve to be immune to current pesticides. Darwinian evolution, those who are not fit to survive do not pass down their genetic material. In this case, the ones that did not survive were not immune to the pesticide, those that did and reproduced now just created a whole new generation of bedbugs immune to your pesticide. And this has been going on for the better part of 20 years. Think of Bedbugs and pesticide like MRSA and antibiotics. http://newyorkvsbedbugs.org/2008/04/12/no-ddt-thanks-were-good (not the best source, but the most informative and least technical, I have other significantly more dense work if requested). DDT is not extremely toxic to humans. The LDLO for DDT is 500mg/kg-1. They spray it on the walls in Africa and Latin America to prevent malaria carrying mosquitos from building up in living spaces. Due to DDTs biochemical make up, it builds up in the top level predators through a process called bio-magnification in which the toxins (DDT) builds up in organism. Since DDT is a known carcinogen, its high levels in upper level predators leads to reproductive and health issues. DDT is the reason Peregrine Falcons, Bald Eagles and other species were all but extinct from North America. While not hazardous to humans at low doses, it is both a human and environmental health risk.

true about not just PD...

Also, where this is on 287 is far to get to from Elmsford and Armonk, not sure about Valhalla. Additionally, it is not the best idea to strip an entire area of all of its EMS resources. edit:sorry...bad proofing
