Looks like a pretty expensive purchase if purchased new...thats a pretty large custom Braun body on the the back and Isuzu chassis. I have no idea if it was purchased new or donated, my money is on it being donated but regardless, some one paid for all of this and I am willing to bet it was not cheap.

Essex Town Police in Essex, Vermont has this massive 2007 Black GMC Yukon Denali with absolutely every option available and the phrase "This vehicle was seized from a local drug dealer" on each of the rear side windows. I think it was the on-duty SGTs car. I will try to get a picture if I see it out again.

Looks great....nice find...any one know which borough it is going to?

This is a relisting....previous listing must have fallen through or not sold for enough...

I will certainly agree, putting emphasis on how quickly you can get to the scene will cause people to drive faster and more recklessly. Maybe I just misinterpreted the original posters thoughts but I though he was saying that the need to run RLS increases with a unstaffed crew as opposed to a staffed crew because an unstaffed crew is already behind the eight ball regarding call taking, dispatching, assembly at station and response and therefore would have a greater need to run RLS. What I was saying is that having a staffed crew partially eliminates starting behind the eight ball potentially reducing the need for RLS. Please tell me if I am completely off base here. Like I said before, you are totally right, putting the emphasis on driving time can and will create unsafe driving. Could shifting the emphasis from driving time to staffing levels consequently increase driver safety? I wonder what the disparity in accident numbers is regarding staffed vs. unstaffed ambulances?

I will agree they play a role in response time but their role is negligible. 1. Time and traffic dont care if you are career or volly. The clock starts when you start moving the rig, a volunteer ambulance will not get there in any less time than a career ambulance from the time the rig starts moving. This is a staffing question not a RLS question 2. This is a preplan issue, if you know that certain roads are congested during certain issues, its simple do not take them. This is not a RLS issue because wall to wall traffic does not get out of the way for RLS just because you want them to do. What you need to do is figure out better ways to get where you are going without encountering traffic. This is a driver training issue. 3. This is another pre-plan, SOP, technology issue not a RLS issue, if you have many intersections and red-lights get an Opti-Com systems so you do not even need to worry about going RLS through a intersection because your light will always we green. I know of squads in rural, rural vermont with the nearest Hospital never mind cardiac/trauma center is 2 hours away that have Opti-com systems for every light between them and the hospital. They gain from RLS maybe five minutes tops and that is on a 60 miles one way where ever they are going. That is to show you the issue is on your end, not embracing technology that could make you safer and more efficient, not the RLS end. While the issues you mentioned are valid, just a little forethought, rational thinking and taking a step back from the adrenaline rush you get from RLS you will realize that RLS are more dangerous to us as EMS workers then whatever issue the patient is calling you for.

Any pictures of the new delivery?

95ft just like the last one....smart money is on another Sutphen but we will see...I am sure we will find out sooner rather than latter...someone here has got to know something.

Great Photos....the rig looks great, extremely well designed and very functional. Good luck with it. Since it is designated Squad 15 are we to assume it is to respond to all calls for service as Squad 15 with the required 6 firefighters? If so, will all 6 respond on this apparatus or with this apparatus or others as well?

Not good....not good for anyone at all...

How is it freelancing if the chief officer or incident commander does a task themselves if no other units have arrived on scene yet?

While the command posts might rarely get used, having mounting brackets and cabinets for the various tools an IC has to bring with them to the scene is a good idea. Honestly it is simply a safety issue, by having everything in some sort container and secured, it is preventing it from being a projectile during a collision and can prevent serious injuries should some of those unsecured objects become airborne. A simple divider between trunk and passenger can accomplish this, however it is nice for everything to have a specific home.

Congratulations..nice new ride, I like the Tahoes, they match nicely with the BPD Tahoes, they also are much easier to navigate on narrow Bedford roads....so will they be letting you take this out on patrol or will you have to bring your chiefs hat on one of the BPD cars? All kidding aside, you would have a better idea as to what they are getting then I would due to sheer proximity. I would be willing to guess the rumor mill is correct and a new chiefs car would be in the works but really your guess would be as good as mine.

1. Despite his youthful offender status being underage, this deal would have him plead guilty as an adult and not a minor 2. We are dealing with a troubled youth here who was living at a group home where he felt his life was in danger, not mitigating circumstances but explanation, he clearly was not of sound judgement or mind when the event occured 3. As Gamewell45 stated, just because you know someone did something does not mean you can prove it, or the case is really that strong 4. This seems to be fair trade so long as more than 5 years are served. We all know of people convicted of actually killing someone have served way less then 7 years. Think Ralph Tarchine who killed Mike Plunkett in Bedford several years ago in a drunk driving accident who served less than three years 5. Maybe complete justice is not in everyones best interest. Maybe someone has decided to maybe give this kid a chance at a second chance if he can clean up his act in 7 years.

Looks great....cant wait to see it in TOB, Joe....are you assigned this car? Why the switch from suburbans to tahoes?

great shots.....btw what is the rock box?

so do you guys get your protractors, compasses and calculators out to figure out the trigonometric function of where it came from? HAHAHA
-
1 is BPD who does have a dispatcher, 1 is Trunking for primary communication and 1 is 46.26 as a back up to Fire 16 so if Trunking goes down there is a plan B

I hate to start another light thread at a time like this but.... N.Y. Passes New Emergency Light Law http://www.firehouse.com/topics/firefighter-safety/ny-passes-new-emergency-light-law Blue lights now allowed on NYS apparatus that also has red/white lights.
