STREET-LEVEL PHOTOGRAPHY COLLECTION IN WESTCHESTER COUNTY Does anyone know how the street and aerial photography that is mentioned in this release from from DES will specifically be used to assist emergency services and management. The only reason I ask is a class I am taking at school is based off of imagery of this nature. Pictometry_Notice.pdf

Got it, thank you for the clarification. I appreciate it. Stay safe and have a good night.

While I do not agree with the legislation, we have no one to blame but ourselves because our inaction, ignorance and inattention caused this problem. The politicians who passes this are merely a tool of the people they represent, it is on the people to communicate what they want, not the politician dictating it. Three words, transparency, responsibility and effectiveness, those three words sum up my thoughts well; if the processes is transparent then it is our responsibility as citizens and tax payers to maintain its effectiveness by using the transparency to hold the politicians accountable to the publics will and desires. The Yorktown process was apparently transparent, if the public is really this caring then they should have been more responsible to stay on top of the process as a whole. It is the tragedy of a society when everyone thinks its not their problem and some one else will solve it until it actually comes up and burns them. Is it possible for you to address my main point of my previous point and that was the application of the Wick Law in its current revision as it applies to the situation in Yorktown?

It is only subject to Wicks Law if the cost of the project exceeds $1,500,000 according to the NYSOGS 2009 revision. (Attached) Additionally, can you be specific, including the statute, where the NYSUFP&BC discusses the requiremnts for a fire house and what is included? If the residents of Yorktown approved the FD budget in an open process, even by electing commissioners, then they also approved the planned spending programs by supporting either the plan or the candidate. Therefore they have no one to blame but themselves and their own voter ignorance. If they were really this concerned then they should have been more involved. Wicks Law.pdf

Honestly a lot less than you would think. The private arm of the County owned Muscoot Farm (friends of Muscoot) erected what would be a steel, 4 apparatus bay (2 facing one way, 2 facing the other) barn on their property in less than a week for less than $30,000. While it does not have a paved floor or much insulation, it was erected cheaply and quickly. If all you have to do is build on a kitchen, meeting room, office and a training room, you are essentially building a house. While a house may cost $750,000, it does not cost that much to build, especially if you are building it as a private organization and not a government municipality.

Retired several years ago. If I remember correctly it failed its ladder test and was just sitting around their HQ empty for some time. No idea where it is now however.

Bedford Hills Correctional does have the old BHFD E197 but it is listed in WCDES as Engine 234. That is in addition to the utility I mentioned above.
-
The Correctional Facility has a utility listed with WCDES 43. BEDFORD HILLS CORRECTIONAL

If it were me I would be guilty as charged.

The email from DES has an attachment from the Westchester County GIS director who said it will be for tax assessment and emergency services. No other information. There are many problems with the google imagery...one problem being all of the cloud cover, two being the tree/leaf cover, 3 being the angle the image is taken, 4 being the spatial resolution, 5 being the temporal resolution, 6 being the geocorrection, 7 being the atmospheric interference, 8 being the spectral resolution, 9 being the wavelengths used and 10 being the location and format of the digital image files. But if they had several summer GIS interns, they could use USGS imagery for free and be able to correct all of these issues using a few simple programs.

All of my flights with Jetblue including my international flight to the Dominican Republic have been nothing other than great experiences. The flights were clean, left on time, the crew was very helpful and I would go as far as to say they made flying into and out of JFK enjoyable. The prices have always been good for me, I have not paid more than 100 round trip from JFK to Burlington or Chicago and 300 round trip for JFK to the DR. I too would love to go to Alaska, looks like I have trip to plan. Any idea the fare rate?

According to the USFA so long as the firefighter received his injuries during active duty or as defined by the Hometown Heros Act it is a LODD, even more than a decade after. I remember middle of last year of the LODDs was a for a firefighter who died something like 13 years after receiving an injury on the job. http://www.usfa.dhs.gov/fireservice/fatalities/

What is to become of the old rescue and didn't Arlington just receive an Engine and Tower Ladder from Ferrara recently?

Don’t Look Back, Brooklyn; Houston Is Gaining on You http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/10/07/dont-look-back-brooklyn-houston-is-gaining-on-you/?scp=1&sq=houston&st=cse

Houston still is one of the fastest growing cities in the country part in thanks to the mass exodus of NOLA residents to Houston. An article in the times said that in less than 15 years, Houston will have a larger population than Brooklyn.

Got it thank you. Hopefully YFD can get all of their FFs back on duty real soon. I was training at the WCFTC for several days last winter and saw your class live fire drilling, they looked real tight out there doing live burns on the training tower. Even ran into Chief Flynn down there too, didn't introduce myself however, did want my cover to be blown...
-
So essentially are all of the probationary YFD members that I saw drilling and completing training academy at the WCFTC last winter not working for YFD ATT?

Get your facts in order Son before you come to judgement. I am not a member of MKVAC but knowing their officers and organization, I am sure that much planning was done by MKVAC before ordering. In the end it seems it was decided that they were better off getting something that fit their needs better. That is not to say that this rig could not meet their needs currently. Literally no one from MKVAC has spoken out regarding the sale of this rig, judgement should not be passed until all of the facts have been presented.
