Chief, I have been asking that question since this summer and no one I talk to has a clue (at least none of the instructors at the WCFTC seem to let on if they do know something). EDIT: Just saw your other post Chief, and thank you, my post above still holds.

I am curious where you saw this in KFDs HQ. I have been in their house for their parade, training, stand-by and for fun dozens of times and I can not recall what you are talking about at all.

Federal Law requires all institutions of higher learning to release an annual report on violent/sexual crime on campus/the surrounding area. These reports are public information. While the blue lights you see on campus are not mandated by law, in essence, they provide a certain level of security to those men and women walking alone at night knowing everywhere they turn on campus they will be able to see at least one blue light. The cost to maintain them annually is certainly much less than the loss of revenue generate when students leave a campus because it is no longer safe.

They have been there for at least 6 months. never seen them move, never seen anyone go near them, in them or use them. I have asked this question to myself and the staff there many times and I have not received an answer at all.

Glad justice prevailed...or better said, thank god thats over.

I agree, IAs are an extremely large draw for this site and relegating them to a hidden corner that can only be found by some form of effort does this site and the IAs themselves a disservice. I think it would be best if what was done on the .COM page was done on the .NET page. That is a column bar on the side of the .NET page with the IAs listed there would be a much better balance then making them disappear.

I was going to ask the same question. As Capt. Nechis said above, MVAs, fires, EMS calls even AFAs (activated CO2 extinguisher systems come to mind) at certain facilities can contain hazardous materials or at least create a hazardous environment. So essentially you are saying explorers and juniors can't ride on any of these calls?
-
Capt. Nechis a question. As you said above, a firefighter needs HMFRO before responding, ok I got that fine but my question is does a ride along, a junior firefighter, exterior firefighter or EMT only member in a fire department based system need that same HMFRO?

That I am sure is a factor but additionally, I would imagine it is just plain easier to buy new then remount an existing module. Over the course of a rigs life the gear changes, the stretcher and stair chair get a little bulkier, you might want to store some new gear on there like forcible entry tools, rehab equipment, SCBAs and room for turn out gear on FD based ambulances or just simply trying a new more convenient configuration of the inside of the module.

exactly what I was going to say. Again, I liked the old charger model (i.e. circa 1977) the 2005 design was fine but this looks like 1/2 charger 1/2 challenger with some chrysler mixed in for a dose of good measure.

agreed, it looks like a large Edge SUV/Cross-over. Personally, I liked the current Explorer design.
-
ugly, looks like they put a weight on the top of the SUV and crushed down the height a good 2 feet of what it looks like it should be.

From the Phoenix FD VOLUME 1 – Operation Manual CUSTOMER RELATIONS PROGRAM "Being a professional on the Phoenix Fire Department means doing the "whole job". Doing the "whole job" includes focusing on the extra interpersonal dimensions and sensitivities of empathy, concern, care and compassion. Our work often involves respecting peoples’ property during their most vulnerable moments, when they need help the most and have to rely on our members. We have become the "Agency of Last Resort" for the poor, the homeless, the destitute, the mentally, emotionally and physically challenged, the chronically ill, the indigent, the incarcerated, and the immigrant. Interpersonal awareness and sensitivity is our responsibility. Indifference or lack of empathy is a professional weakness. The public does not need one of our members to be having a "bad day" when they call us for help... they're already having one of their own." http://phoenix.gov/FIRE/11301.pdf

So what about the operating conditions for optimal battery life? Can it be stored outside in a freezing flycar for a week and a half and still perform?

Beautiful truck, when is it expected to be in service?

Agreed, I can think of at least 3 others more deserving of top 5 than Reagan. Jefferson, FDR or Roosevelt anyone? I am willing to explain my choices if debated but I hardly think a man who insighted the Iran-Contra Affair, "voodoo economics", increased the size of government by 25% and claimed victory over a "cold" force of mostly propaganda is more deserving of a honor of the top 5 more than the architect of our liberty (Washington), Freer of the slaves (Lincoln), Man who more than doubled the size of the US to included the nations "bread basket" and a considerable part of our natural resources and the framer of the constitution (Jefferson), The man who got this nation out of the great depression and won World War II (FDR), and the president who built the Panama Canal, defeated the Spanish on San Juan Hill, busted trusts and monopolies, protected our food with the Pure Food and Drug Laws and for all of you union/labor people out there created the Department of Commerce and Labor to protect the rights of workers and openly supported organized labor more so than any other president to that date (Roosevelt). Do you out there really think Reagan is still the greatest president even when compared to Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, Roosevelt or FDR? Or have you been drinking the Tea Party Kool-Aid in Jonestown/Palinville?

Not going back that far but I remember when MTVs reality TV consisted of TRL, Room-raiders and Next.

Or from someone on scene. Its not like it is illegal to take photos of accident scenes, yet, despite what some people tell ya...

I am curious to know how these new SCBAs react to firefighter search and rescue operations. I.e. converting the SCBA to a harness to drag the member out, I was told during FAST that the DRD in all of our coats should be tertiary to the SCBA harness conversion and ropes and knots to evacuate downed firefighters.
