Slightly different than shoving a vodka soaked tampon in your rectum or who-ha, kids from my old high school have thought of something way more in-genius. Teenagers Use Gummy Candy to Hide Alcohol http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/Teenagers-Gummy-Candy-Alcohol-Boozy-Bears-133505668.html I think it is safe to say that we can consider kids trying to get high/drunk kinda like mini junkies, give them long enough and they will find away to score and get intoxicated. Education is certainly not the answer considering I never did anything this dumb and I received the same education as the kids in the article above.

Places to find this masterpiece: http://statter911.com/2011/10/12/drill-video-bailing-out-the-hard-way/ www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLwIjLjoiIs http://www.firefighterclosecalls.com/news/fullstory/newsid/146856

I saw that too and was speechless, obviously you pulled together some hidden pair of stones because this short film is going to explode on here. It looks like a member is using their bailout system to impress their friends, all I have to say is that hopefully this member was dealt with along with any other members caught participating in this brainless antic. Even though this only ended with a several foot fall, this member was using a piece of his own personal life-safety equipment to impress his friends, he is lucky he did not actually need it in real life. Unfortunately all departments have members like this, but not all of them are dumb enough to do this and then post it on youtube. Where is the leadership?

Yea, they will be back.... Judge orders New York to allow protesters, tents, in park http://www.cnn.com/2011/11/15/us/new-york-occupy-eviction/index.html?hpt=hp_c1 MOS that required EMS had heart palpitations and was not assaulted.

Oh yes thank you, I didnt see that.

IF the members of the department are considered town employees AND they use the POV to get to trainings, meetings, responding to calls and other department business then it seem like a good idea to reimburse the members with a gas "card" to be used at the DPW or other town fill stations at the municipal rate based on mileage put on the vehicle. Not a retention tool, merely a means to ensure that your current members at least have the ability to respond and attend meetings, trainings and alike. While mileage is not as much of an issue in suburban areas but in rural areas where your distance to the station or scene is measured in tens of miles not blocks it can be a serious issue.

While that is true, I have the Motorola Droid 2 and my battery charges from 30% to 100% in less than three hours and a replacement battery is under 5 dollars on Amazon.com. While I am a huge fan of the Android operating system, I am just waiting for the day I get an iPhone, who actually needs their phone to make phone calls.

I don't know who the bigger a-holes are...the guy for assaulting the EMT or the OWS protestors for blocking his removal. Speedy recovery to the MOS

Are all of the new AMR going to come with chevrons and a box body as opposed to the van?

From the NYS DMV site: Request for DMV records search account for government, commercial, and not-for-profit organizations, volunteer fire companies, and volunteer ambulance services (replaces forms MV-15COM and MV-15GOV). Motor Vehicle Record Search Account Application MV-15D When you look at the form, it looks like that the license holder has nothing to do with the DMV check. Essentially, the person performing the check on you is the only person that fills out/looks at the form prior to it being sent to the DMV.

Considering I will be back on the bus at 0700hrs I am very concerned I will forget about the time change and arrive an hour early. (Wont be the first time). And considering they are closing my route to work for the half marathon I will be working, it might be a good thing I get there an hour early.

Unless PCFD is the exception to the rule, which odds are if its like 99.97% of fire departments it is not, it is doing more with less. I would be willing to bet the membership numbers today are less than they were 10 years ago, 20 years ago, 30 years ago etc etc. The fact of the matter is every department is doing more with less money and man power. This is not a burn or criticism, simply stating facts about the modern fire service.

http://www.emtbravo.net/index.php/topic/39253-westchester-county-ny-firefighter-closing-122010/page__pid__249984__st__60#entry249984 Link above will take you to a thread where this is discussed. A score in the high 80's lands you a list number in the mid-100's. A score of 80 lands you a list number right around 500. Remember, this list is good for 4 years.

Got my results as well. I thought I did better but I am very pleased with my position on this list. Not bad for my first one in Westchester.

Buried powerlines work great, provided your house was built before 1970 and the powerlines above ground feeding it don't get taken out. We have buried powerlines at my house, at this storm has taken the power out for longer than Irene did at this point. The problem we found is that while there are rarely problems with the buried powerlines, its when the ones before it about ground get taken out, are you then SOL. And yes, I am buying a generator ASAP.
